Just had a quick search and found the following
Sunderland 13/8
Blackpool 11/4
Lincoln 3/1
Pompey 9/2
Oxford 22/1
Charlton 25/1

cannot understand how we are so much bigger a price than a team we have beaten twice already this season.

It's called betting, the more people who bet on something or the more money bet on something then the price comes down. Like when everyone thinks England are going to win the world cup.😁
Obviously Sunderland fans think they're gonna piss the playoffs and have lumped on big style.
Both Blackpool and Lincoln are quite attractive odds. Alternatively have a bet on Charlton if you want to lose cash😉👍🏻

Sunderland are the favourites for me.

I’m really not sure how to view those two games we played against Sunderland. Yes we beat them twice, but I can’t say that we outplayed them in any way.

I’d say overall they had the better of us at the Stadium of Light and thought it was pretty even at our place. We scored a very lucky goal on the break and how McGeady’s effort that hit the post didn’t go in still baffles me now. Any game where your goalkeeper is the outstanding player on the pitch suggests that you didn’t deserve to win and Maxwell’s performance at Sunderland was the best goalkeeping Blackpool performance in my lifetime.

Sunderland also have the outstanding playmaker and arguably the best striker in the league. Totally get them being favourites.

Also to add that the bookies will see Embleton as one of our key players and will know he wouldn’t be able to play against his parent club.

Far too much common sense for here.

50,000 Mackems putting money on?

The fact we’ve took 6 points off Sunderland without playing to the standard we know we can should be taken as a positive, anyways they’ve won one game in 8 not sure what this fascination with them is to be honest.

I viewed the 2 games against Sunderland as played 2, won 2, goals for 2, goals against 0, points 6
I have never seen or heard of points being given for artistic impression or having the best player on the pitch.
So we scored a lucky goal, I dont give a toss if the next winner Jerry scores comes off his backside hits the corner flag and loops over the keeper!! Its still a goal. See you managed to miss out the screamer Sulley scored at the SoL😉👍🏻
If your keeper plays out of his skin, by your definition, you don't deserve to win.
What if your forward scores a hat trick should we still deserve to lose?
Both players would have performed to their maximum ability, make your mind up would you have preferred Maxwell to let all those shots in?
Oh, and Sunderlands best playmaker and forward in the league did nothing in either game.
And if the bookies think Embleton is one of our main players then more fool them.
I dont agree with your post at all👍🏻

😂😂😂 My word take them tangerine tinted specs off

I was just trying to give reasons why Sunderland are the favourites for the play offs with the bookies. Not being negative towards us in any way.

1. Never once said we deserved to lose.
2. They’ve got the top goal scorer in the play offs.
3. They’ve got the best player in league one.

Also. Embleton is a very important member of our squad. Lost 3 in 20 odd games since he rocked up. Basically when he signed we went on the run that got us in the play offs. Not saying it’s all down to him, just think not having him in our squad makes us weaker.

It really is on no way down to him, I wouldn't sign him

Sunderland seem to have good enough players, but they are not firing on all cylinders, we weren't either but managed to beat them twice. Small margins but if we get to the final we are in with a good shout, whoever we play.

I see the odds being about right. We did win x2 matches but we were very fortunate in both of them.
The thing is, this could play into our hands because we all know that we can perform a lot better - so we’ve still got a surprise element

Sunderland are not favourites because their fans have lumped on...I will stick my neck out and say this has been a very very quiet market so far...the bookies have odds compilers who use algorithms, stats and football knowledge beyond that of your average Joe Punter and that is why Sunderland are favourites. I think we are a very fair price at 11/4 but it really is a wide open affair and it wouldnt shock me to see any of the 4 teams promoted...just hope we perform to our best level and we will be fine and hopefully win it.

I have both praised and lambasted Blackpool throughout this season.

1. You mentioned that you didn't say once that Blackpool deserved to lose yet, one of your comments says "Any game where your goalkeeper is the outstanding player on the pitch suggests that you didn't deserve to win ".

What did they deserve then?

Having read your posts again I think you're right. Sunderland, with the best players in the league will take us to the cleaners. Lincoln are unbeaten against us this season so won't fear us and any team from Pompy, Oxford or Charlton will have something to prove against us.
I've thrown those glasses away and looked at the situation in the cold light of day. What were we thinking getting into the playoffs, we've no chance 🤦‍♂️

There’s a thing in football called a draw. They tend to happen in football when teams score the same amount of goals.

I haven’t mentioned the other play off sides or that Sunderland would take us to the clean, just given reasons why Sunderland are rightly favourites.

I’ve not once said we’ve no chance. Favourites often don’t win in football, just looking from the bookies point of view.

Biggest budget. Biggest goal difference. Top goal scorer in play offs. Aiden McGeady.

Bookies won’t be taking into account those two games because they mean very little. Both squads will be in very different places and both will be well rested.

As it happens, I’d actually fancy us against them. More so at Wembley than over 2 legs.

I get it, you think we’re better than Sunderland, Hull and Peterborough. Just because we beat them in one off games. If you phone up the bookies I’m sure they’ll give you the Sunderland price for us to go up.

Just like Rochdale, Shrewsbury and Bristol Rovers are better than us.

I agree with your sentiments about the games.

At home we had 30% possession or something ridiculous, and beat them off a fluke of a goal really. I'd say over the 90 minutes we deserved to beat them at the SoL but they had some ridiculously good chances that required Maxwell to pull off great saves and we did ride our luck a bit in the last 10 minutes.

I think we could do them again, no doubt about it but it would be nervy and could easily go the other way. I'd much rather them and Lincoln slug it out to be honest!

Teams draw when they have the same score Sunderland failed to score on both occasions. Happy to help👍🏻

Despite the result midweek I have a feeling Lincoln the team to avoid. Been up there all season and getting key plays missing for the last few months (which coincided with their poor run) back from injury. Hope I’m wrong, like

I don’t @bollieboy , just prefer giving them my wages rather than the wife....!

Crikey!! I didn't know you'd have to give the bookies your wife. How long has wife betting been going on?

That's all well and good, but for 180 minutes Wyke was capably marshalled by our centre halves while McGeady was utterly frustrated by being unable to get away from Ollie Turton.

Point 3 is wrong We have ,in fact the best 2 .Mr Yates and Mr Maxwell. Their best player would need oxygen after 30 mins on a hot Wembley pitch

Not much equity at the moment with only £35k traded in a multi million pound market...think we will setlle around 3.85 to 3.95...probably 11/4 in bookies terms if you shop around

It's not actually the play-off market TTP, it's the promotion market that has been up all season and amounts to the play-off winner now.

That's £35k all season and it is certainly not a multi million pound market but you will still never be able to lay a worthwhile amount at lower than the bookies so I'd say the 3's is fair like you say.

I can't understand why folk are surprised or bothered why Sunderland are jollies ?

The Pool are going up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
