Nigel Hawkins, the real 'crowd pleaser'. He was like a lost boy on his debut and I'm not sure he ever played professionally again. I named my mum's dog, Nigel, after him.

Wayne Harrison scored 2 belters from outside the box on his debut.

If I remember correctly, he arrived with Dave Bamber from the University football team.

Bamber went onto greater things in football, but Wayne didn't progress his footballing career (as far as I know).
I saw him in Blackpool a few years later, so he might still live in the area.

He did play for us for a couple of seasons. Went back home to Workington where he played and managed the club. Keen Liverpool fan.
