PNE recruiting fans in Garstang

Tonight I got a flyer through the letterbox, encouraging locals to take advantage of early bird discounts on PNE season tickets. I promptly went outside and said is this a joke ? And handed it back to him saying i was a seasider, but I added I suppose I can understand that you need more fans. We then exchanged a little banter, ending with me stating we won 2-1 on aggregate.

Yep they're going for it, if they don't hit decent numbers there's no excuse, it'll be poor given the price and effort.

We should be leafleting.

Leafleting sounds desperate to me! Bit like when it's the elections and leaflets go through doors. I reckon 99% have already made their mind up and the other 1% aren't really fans if it takes a leaflet to persuade them to part with their cash.

Some of our fans are so contradicting in their views.

We said the free Blackpool shirt to primary school children was a great initiative, along with the TangerineTeamMates. This is a tactic used by the club to try and recruit new Seasiders.

So, when we do it, it’s fine but when Preston do it it’s not?

Please be consistent with your views.

Different.

A leaflet, you either read it or don't and bin it.

A shirt you wear and wear. A constant reminder.

HI, Garstangians

For only £280 you can watch 21 Championship football matches just down the road....I bet you didn't know we were that close!!!!
That's just £13,33p a game.......or the equivalent of 3 small cups of Coffee in Starbucks.....which would be more stimulating than watching us....BUT
At Deepdale, you can see stars of the Championship such as Brad Potts.....or............................Mark Lawrenson & Deepdale (Smelly) Duck.....
P.S....Children under 13 are not allowed within 20 feet of Deepdale Duck due to a misunderstanding at the local swimming baths......

PLEASE come....were trying to flog the place again this year and we need to pretend that real fans attending....were looking to sell at any cost.
We just need you to buy 1 ticket, just 1...or you could bring the kids, they can wear their Liverpool shirts...we don't mind.....Half our fans support other teams.
SO....Come and join the LOWECommotion....or become an Ambassador....10% off all tickets when we reach the Prem.......or 30% off for League 1

Come on down and enjoy the roar of the main road running past Deepdale, the overpowering smell of Deepdale Duck...a Butter pie from 1892
Our fans are some of the best in Preston......come and have a sing song with Mr Meeseeks and his one string banjo, drop a £1 coin into his empty cup to help him feed his habit and to keep him in fags and wank mags for the week.....
And just like Preston North End Owners....You too, can throw your money down the drain......

23 games actually so 12.17 a game

Perhaps they are wasting their time, or maybe we should have been more proactive , time will tell

They're already desperate.
Lost half of the squad and the loans won't be back.
Trying to sell tickets before signing the usual shite.

I saw earlier today, quite funny as it was just friendly banter, but his tweet got a bit of reaction. Including suggestions for continued daily deliveries to my house.

To be honest if the leaflets increase season ticket sales, then fair play. I just didn't want one.

But what fantastic fans for doing this for the good of the club & doesn't cost anything .
Can’t believe all the jealous crap that comes from your fans .
The club has done its bit by reducing ST ticket prices & our fans doing there bit .

Most have agreed we should leaflet too, whats the harm in spreading the word.

Have had PNE st leaflets delivered to Lytham when Simon Grayson was manager . Couldn't sleep for a week . It's not a new initiative.

You should say the booklet AFC Fylde send me each spring in St Annes to try and shift their season tickets. Must cost a small fortune as it's always of high quality.

That bloke, posting leaflets, probably lives in Garstang and is doing it for free so he can find the other PNE fan rumoured to be living there.
Must be really lonely when your the only Gay PNE fan in a village

I've always thought leafletting is a waste of time. No one is going to get a season ticket because something dropped through the door. You're either thinking about it and can afford it, in which case you'll get one, or you're not.

Quite likely your right

Not everyone is all over social media though, so surely it’s just about getting that headline price out to as many potential customers.

Cant cost that much for a few thousand leaflets, nothing to lose by trying, but unlikely to make a great impact I agree.

Even more unlikely that someone thinking of buying a BFC season ticket is going to look at a leaflet and decide to buy a PNE ticket instead.

You should have kept the flyer. Or even asked for a few more.
Every one you kept would reduce the risk of an innocent member of the public being tempted over to the Dark Side and forever tainted.
It would have been your good deed for the day 😇

I apologise whole heartedly, I clearly wasn't thinking straight

Leafletting might catch a few new fans, but to immediately go buying a season ticket is probably not very common.

The majority who get the leaflet and go probably have heard about the price anyway.

The best way for new fans is a leaflet campaign based on attracting new and lapsed fans to a game, produce this leaflet and get in for 10 or 15 quid for new and lapsed fans or whatever you want to do.

That might entice a few new people to try it and want to go again.
