Politics threads should be banned from this Football site

Well maybe but they get me going. It looks like Leave won again and only a few remain on the old site.

They annoyed the hell out of me on the old forum. 🤬 It won't be possible to ban them here any more than we could before. There are (weird) people who want to argue about politics and they'll do it no matter what others think.

If they start to break out again then we must ask AVFTT to open up a sub-forum for them. It could be called "The Asylum". 😰 Let's keep this board clear for football arguments.

Politics threads bore the T*ts off me... It's like a group of Blackpool Fans arguing with Prescum fans trying to convert each other to switch allegiances... Total waste of time.
 
There should be one for politics only as the ones about movies, TV series, books, music etc., are ace and should have their own sub board too not mixed up with Politics. Mind you, that Cummings is a slimy ** though!! 😊

It is if you bear in mind all of the BASIL (community) members are fully paid up recruits of the Layton Popular Front,and sometimes hold manoeuvres on Kingscote Park.Someone is going to take a mashing soon passing through Layton station when we get the paint balling gear.
 
There is a difference between expressing a view on a political situation and peddling propaganda. Most normal people can spot the difference and the culprits!
 
Nobody has to look at politics threads if they don't want to, though. If you don't like it, just steer clear.

Why are you trying to impose your own will and tell others what not to do?

No one ever changes anyone else's opinion on anything, be it football, music, politics, food, holidays or whatever other shite gets posted on these boards or anywhere else on the internet, the whole thing is an echo chamber of confirmation bias.

Might as well ban it all then.

we get banned straight away when we post on there - no banter, just bitter
 
During the boycott there was very little football being discussed (mainly court cases) but as a media outlet I found our board took the lead on breaking news stories it was quite informative, quite happy how it is personally. You could block people but would be accused of being a Snowflake just ignore the stuff posted by WUM's if you have the self control not to bite.
 
I agree. The AVFTT board became absolutely unbearable leading up to the election.

I don't want to know anyone elses political views. Just their football related thoughts and opinions.
 
There are lots of threads on all sorts of things posted on here that I don't want to read but I wouldn't for one minute suggest trying to ban other people from starting them because I believe in the right to freedom of expression. What you like as an individual is not what everyone else likes, live and let live.
 
I would like to go back to a BFC only site. The rest can go to a general section for them that want it.
 
No need to ban them. Just block the main offenders using the new block capability. I've already pre-blocked a couple based on prior posting history.

I think that all the things I don't like should be banned or seperated somewhere where nobody can see them and all the things I do like should be kept on the front page, just like

As others have said, set up a sub forum for all non-football posts - the mythical off-topic forum. I believe the old site simply couldn't handle it but I'm pretty sure this one is capable. I'd very much like to see it happen.
