Pool wanted game off

Doncaster on a really bad run of form and we fall further behind. We would have wanted it on.

No covers.

No groundstaff, it seems at 5 ish

Injuries.

Can only think we didn't 'fancy it'.

No problem with what you are saying Founts but I find it funny as only last night I was called a conspiracy theorist for suggesting that Hasselbaink might possibly have wanted to play the other week.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that we didn't fancy it or Hasselbaink didn't either, I'm just saying that it's not unusual for a team to want a game called off and to suggest so is hardly a conspiracy theory.

It was the pr1ck with the glove though so that might explain things.

Or scrap the season, like we should have ages ago, no crowds, Covid cancellations, it's costing clubs money just to put games on etc etc..

Agree whole heartedly.

I just don’t see the logic in it.

Unless they have an idea the drain may be extended. If that’s the case makes perfect sense.

Idiotic OP. We have every reason to play. If we can play Wigan with eleven missing we could and would have played this. I don't know about a change of owner, we could do with changing the mentality of some of our supporters.
Wigan and Doncaster are totally different propositions, plus we’re really struggling at centre back now.

I can accept the argument the covers aren’t for rain, but they’re not permeable they will offer some protection.

If we really wanted to play tonight we would have.

Again if the club know something, such as the seasons going to extended fair enough.

If not then it’s going to be even more ridiculous down the stretch.

And here was me thinking that the o/p was taking the piss out off morons like you

No disrespect mate but you are way off the mark with that.
Why on earth would they want to call the game off?
Great current form, backlog of games that we need to get out of the way.
No reason at all for not wanting to play and besides Doncaster will already be there so if there was something untoward I’m sure we would hear about.
And don’t forget it is the ref who will have called it off not the club.

You’ll be on his hit list now mate. 😂

Better for game to be off, if in a bad state than risk losing more players with serious injurys and losing the game ,also cant blame groundsman for the weather,,as the saying goes dammed if we do dammed if we dont next thing people will be blaming the managment,it was the referee who called game of due to ball not going across the ground when kicked and stopping after a few feet ,therefore putting players at risk of a bad injury ,time for some common sense .

No standing water on my back garden a few miles away, and I’ve not touched it since October.
Maybe they can get the match on here instead?

Just read what I write and not what you want me to.

I don't know whether Blackpool wanted the game off tonight or if Burton wanted the game off the other week but football teams can look to try and get games called off whenever it suits.

You call that a conspiracy theory if you so wish, perhaps you can go further and turn it into a racist or misogynist issue to further impress your pals.

Know someone who works at the ground, but not for the club. Says when he left the stadium this afternoon, the pitch was being worked on and marked out. Not sure where theses stories originate from.
30 years of neglect cannot be solved overnight. The playing surface is so much better, but there are obviously underlying problems that still need to be sorted.
So much good stuff going on at a time when the club has no paying customers and yet people jump on any negative they can. Look at all the positive stuff SS has done since he came in, not just an owner but a fan. I'm sure whatever is needed by the groundsman in the summer, will be provided.

Thing is the pitch should have been top of the list when the new stadium got built.
Surely proper drainage etc isn’t such a big deal nowadays. 7

So it's neglect from the previous regime.
There's over a £100 million reasons why the pitch should be better. Don't get negative about a current owner, who is dping everything he can to make the club better in every way.

We should have done all we could to get the match on, especially as Doncaster are having a poor run of form at the moment.

Do you know what. That is a load of chuff. I'd forgo a new East Stand and a new training complex to have a modern football pitch that can withstand a bit of rain and frost. It's a football club and being able to fulfil football matches should come before anything else.

"Jumping on any negative" my arse. It's a shit-show having so many games postponed and I'm pretty sure that Simon Sadler will be fizzing about it too (especially tonight) despite the acolyte's on here who try to belittle supporters being a little peeved.

They'd have had a T20 cricket game back up and running at 7pm tonight with a little care, a little attention and some professional forethought.

Sorry pal, but that's totally bollocks. The pitch has been shit for the last 30 years, but all of a sudden it's the fault of everyone involved over the last vouple of years. Over a £100 million from the Prem, plus the £'s the commercial revenue earned the club, plus the extra gate money etc etc. Where did that money go ? Sprinklers ? A training ground that was unuseable until the new owner came in.
Get a grip and point the finger where the finger needs pointing. The way things were gping under the Oystons, tonight not only wpuld the pitch have been flooded, but it wouldn't have had a blade of grass on it.
Simon Sadler hasn't had the head start of multi millions supposedly in the club coffers, he's doing it of his own bat and probably put of his own pocket.
It's not that long ago when we had matches off and Blackpool Mechanics, or AFC for you young un's, were playing.
Sinon Sadler will get things right because he's a fan. The pitch has been shit for years, it's a little less shit because it's had some money spent on it.
Total over reaction and i want everything yesterday. Sadler must be thinking, why do i fcking bother.

You must be young then because the pitch was fit for purpose until recently. I cannot remember in 40 years having so many postponements.

Sadler is probably thinking get me that groundsman on the phone now.

I'm actually 62 and have played on the pitch many times as an amateur, when it was a privige to do so. In recent years local leagues have played finals at Highbury as Bloomfield Rd was so bad.
In other news today, CEO Ben Mansford states that the pitch is suffering from a chronic drainage problem, due to under investment by the previous regime.
Must have been reading my posts !
