And so we head into Spring with, perhaps, a little spring in our step (ho, ho). Despite the gloom of the festive season we continue to track well against our 2006/07 forebears. One note worth making when viewing the league positions (below), is that we have now played 27 games. Our 2006/07 team, by the end of February, had completed 33 fixtures. So, onward and - hopefully - upward. Come On the Pool!

66, no word of a lie I had a dream last night that you'd posted this and we had a significant dip on the blue line. It was that vivid I had to actually check it hadn't been posted for real last night whilst browsing this morning. The fact you've posted it now just makes the scenario all the more stranger!

A sign I should be spending less time on AVFTT methinks, its creeping into my subconscious 😂

Doesn’t it depend a bit what the other teams do too - I think Swansea crashed a bit opening the door for us that season

The graph shows that we only took one point from games 28 to 32 in 07, so with the number of home games to come we should hopefully be ahead of the curve from game 33. I think we'll need to be because we didn't have to play 2 games per week until the season end in 07. It's going to be very difficult to keep up with the 2007 curve from match 33 to 46, but in our current form who knows? 👍

Yes, you're right. That said, my intention all along with this chart is to say, look, if we shut out all the other noise, tracking the points progress of our promoted former team will get us into a play-off berth.

We know, of course, that in 2006/07 we won the last seven games of the season. Well, we've just won 5 of the last 6 so it's not beyond the possible.

Pool DO have the personnel to rotate each match, both in numbers and in quality. You don’t feel tired when you’re winning. The cracks will show if we lose a couple on the bounce. It’s easy to say, but so hard to do, but taking each game as it comes is the key. As supporters, we can look forward to oncoming 4 or 5 fixtures, trying to gauge a realistic return. I’ll bet NC and his squad have NOTHING else in their head other than Crewe on Tuesday. They will be focused on that.

I love this but we need to be well ahead of the line with 10 days to go, as we won the last 7 league games, to get in plY offs.
If we repeat that 7 game run, being ahead of line we will go up automatically
