Purposely kept off the Match Thread

Statistics...... The only one that matters is that we got 3 points.

MK Dons are a team very low on confidence and it showed. We came with a game plan and it worked perfectly. In fact if you think back over the game we only allowed them the one shot against the bar. Our defence were superb, as they have been for most of the season. We pressed them and pushed them back and we had far more chances even though our possession was low, we did this off the ball and we still could have won it 3 nil.

I don't think it's a formation that we will use at home and not that much away either to be honest but that was carefully thought out and delivered to perfection. The pitch was shocking too don't forget. We also stretched them once we bought on Mitchell (who looked really good) and CJ (who looks really rusty) and the change of Dougall for Virtue gave us that defensive bite in midfield (Something he should have done on Saturday).

For all the squealing and angst on the MDT, which I think was a continuation of the frustrations (rightly so) of Saturdays poor performance, we actually won that pretty comfortably and it's another 3 points which puts us in 11th, 4 points behind 6th place with 3 games in hand.

We would all like to see us always play slick, attacking football, but that is never going to happen, it will against some teams, but this is about getting results and climbing up the table. We have won our last 3 away games and drawn 2 at home, 11 points from 5 games and we have been doing that consistently for the last 20 games.

I think those of you who were unhappy with that performance should sit back and reflect, reflect on a job well done and a good 3 points. Madine still to come back into the team and CJ who will be getting more match fit with every game.

We are still on a really good run and I hope we can keep it going. Keep the faith.

Agree with much of that. I thought Dougall for Virtue was the right decision but unfortunately I think Dougall is looking very rusty at the moment. Possibly Covid effects, or possibly being in and out of the team....not sure why. I'm sure he'll get going again given a run in the side though, like Hamilton.

He could easily have some after effects of Covid, my partner has had them and they have been horrendous, worse than the illness itself as she had a very mild dose of that. I would guess it is that and no matter how fit he is, if he has he will certainly be struggling and could be for some time. The sooner he is back to full health the better. Mind you, Critch may just prefer Virtue over him, personally I would have Stewart and Dougall with Ward and Kaikai ahead of them and preferably Madine & Yates up top. Mind you I also like the option of CJ and Mitchell too!!

That's a good summary but I'm not as enthusiastic about Mitchell as you and many other posters for that matter.

I listened to the Radio Lancs commentary on the radio but didn’t watch the match. I think Michael Jackson was co commentary and he was full of praise for the performance.

Agree with pretty much all of that Herts. If I had to think of one word to describe us tonight it would be 'professional'. Now there is a word that we are not used to using at Blackpool over the years! But now, everything about the club - on and off the field - is starting to look and feel very professional. A lot of credit has to go to Crtich, SS and the key players behind the scenes for this. We have the look and feel of a club going places UTMP
