Question: Grey Bins Collection

Apologies if not allowed on here but a question for those under Blackpool Council, I have 2 Grey bins and never had to put them both out until now.

Does anyone know if the bin men will take them or do they get funny about doubling up? They're both council supplied bins, suspect if I ask the council they'd want me to pay more but how would the bin men know.

not got a definite answer but i know some people in our street have two grey bins which they put out. So, I'd give it a go and then you'll find out if it's a problem. I doubt it would be.

I’ve known people with more than 1 grey bin and the bin men have removed one of them so probably depends on individual bin men

You get away with it for so long then then a letter comes in the post saying your only permitted one bin to put out.

For two bins and assesment takes place after you've applied.

I had extra black bin bags so took them to the tip other week the jobsworth made me open them so they could check what I was throwing away!

Round our way, the binmen put 2 or 3 bins together when they've emptied them. How would they know it’s not two houses put out together?

Put a pack of biscuits on top of the lid or give them a couple of quid. I am sure they will shift them.

Every house has their number written or sticker's(by ourselves)on it otherwise you'd end up cleaning next doors bin or their bin cleaning company who come round ours.

They will take them, not an issue.

My neighbour puts a minimum of 2 grey out each time, always taken in FY2.

We previously qualified for 2, as we had 3 kids at home.

Still got both, and occasionally put both out. I may still be on the list though.

I got away with it for years told them someone had pinched my bin(hid it in the garage) ordered another one, then received the letter of doom a few months ago saying I could only put one out.😃
