Right...realistic shortlist of managers

Who could SS have in mind? Hear Evatt getting a mention but would love Warnock. Any others?

Anyone with some passion about them, who basically wants to win matches and entertain the fans. We don’t expect to win every game just give a good account of ourselves.

Good news is now we’ve got a good owner and there’s progress off the pitch, I feel like more good managers will be interested in coming here rather than some has been after another pay day desperate for a job

I said earlier today.
If we want to be an up and coming progressive club we need a manager to match that ambition.
So Warnock is exactly who we don't want as Manager
Evatt/Southern would excite me.

it has to be someone young, the games changed too much over recent year. Nathan Jones or Aitor Karanka (although ambitious) for me

SS won’t want to get his next appointment wrong and don’t forget this is a new business venture for him. I think it will be somebody who comes with a good CV and been round the block a few times, and yes l know SG has a record at this level but has been potted in recent times on a number of occasions. Evatt is maybe one for the future but not now.

It needs to be someone who wants to play attacking football, preferably a young manager looking to progress.
Evo or Wellens would be good, but I think we need to look at the back room set up properly (which has started).

I've wondered for a while if today's SG could connect with players. First time around he went from player to manager overnight, he could still relate to players. But that was 13 years ago.
So someone with no history of losing the dressing room, someone whose career isn't on the slide.

Wellens & Evatt fit that profile, plus Barry-Murphy (don't care that he used to be a Nobber, just want the right man).

Hopefully SS BM & Tommy Johnson have access to wise counsel.

I'm pretty sure Simon will have someone lined up
If not who's going to get the caretaker role assuming his staff have also got the bullet.
John Murphy?

i would have Ian evatt but with an experience manger , evo as number two maybe
my worry is he has no experience in the football league as manger

Nigel Adkins would be my preferred choice, think he might like the new set up and ambition at our club, Wellens as second choice.

Bruno Labbadia would be excellent and nearly took WBA job...Chris Hughton...both probably beyond us...Wellens and Evatt best of past players as managers but maybe a bit risky...Thommo would be a good and popular choice...Id also be happy with Nathan Jones...I think they will have someone in mind already and I just hope its not Paul Heckingbottom personally

Got to say from some of the names mentioned, realistically Nathan Jones would be a great shout. He will have something to prove after what happened at Stoke for sure.
