RIP Big Joe. He went in with the best.
Remember him battering Richard Dunn in a round after Dunn wound him up making out he was effeminate.

I remember the Cooper V Bugner fight very well, and was convinced Henry won it.

Excellent boxer ….. unfortunately the British public didn’t like him because he beat Henry Cooper and he never fully unleashed his punching power because of the death of one of his opponents in an early fight of his.

I do think Harry Gibbs did Henry Cooper a favour when he declared Joe Bugner the winner of their fight, if Cooper had won, he would have carried on and could have ended up like another famous Heavyweight ……. a sad sight.

Is he the boxer who used to be knocked out in the way you expect boxers to be knocked out.

Sort of spreadeagled in the ring as if he was having a gentle nap?
