RIP Matthew Perry

Sad news. Always a troubled soul - sometimes all the talent, money & fame in the world doesn’t bring happiness.

Hopefully at peace now.
 
Our daughter and her mates favourite programme way back, which got us hooked too. Had a real feel good factor, an American sitcom at its best. RIP.
 
Although never a super fan of Friends, it was at its height as I studied in the USA and so I have a soft spot for it - he was a decent actor in it.

I think what I admire more was his courage to talk openly about his drug and alcohol addictions which were awful.

Real pity.
 
My 30 year old daughter cant stop crying, and I get it. It’s not just about the person, it’s about what they represent in your life.

She was brought up on Friends from birth, both my girls were. We watch the whole series fully, again, every year.

Yes, it maybe matters less than many things, but it’s a very sad day in my house 😥

Hope he has found his peace.
 
A strange one for me , but as someone who never watches American comedies, I’ve never heard of the guy . But he seems to have been well liked , so RIP .
 
One of those that I saw a glimpse of the news this morning somewhere and then went on Google hoping it wasn't true.
I was a big Friends fan when it was originally shown and was actually in New York when the last ever one was aired which was a big deal at the time. I've seen them all but never really revisited it since for some reason, don't know why. Other similar like Frasier I can still watch over and over.
Anyway Matthew Perry was very good , they all were but he was probably the most naturally funny. It's sad news and he seems to have had struggles in his life . For me Friends was about so many moments that were funny and he was involved in a lot of those.
RIP.

What a waste of a life. In an interview said his addiction to alcohol and drugs cost him $9m including rehab and private surgery for damage caused by addiction
He was also virtually given the last rites after he fell into a coma
He’s probably done quite well to make it to 54 in fairness
