Robert Plant and Alison Krauss

I know they were on at Glastonbury but I saw them properly at Hyde Park yesterday and they were absolutely incredible. Their version of ‘when the levee breaks’ is as good as the Zeppelin version.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Kudos to Robert Plant for his post-Zep ventures, exploring different genres and sounds.
And Alison Krauss is blessed with a wonderful, crystalline voice.

There was an excellent programme on bbc 4 the evening they played Glastonbury detailing Robert Plant's post Zep stuff. Should be on iPlayer.

They are excellent but to compare their versions of Zeppelin songs with the real thing is frankly laughable.

Victor - don't get me wrong, Zeppelin are one of my all time favourite bands, but I did really enjoy how he's reworked some of the stuff. Of course it's not the same but it was a very good listen.

Oh I completely agree, their version of Rock and Roll is brilliant but not a patch on the Zeppelin version with Bonzos incredible drums.

I take it you were at the Eagles gig, yesterday what did you think of Morgan Wade?
I think she's a real talent.

Watched that Mark, really enjoyed it, got a world music cd years ago with ‘Win my train fare home’ on it, Plant and Justin Adams live in Timbuktu, also Ry Cooder&Ali Farka Touré. Got in to all that Touareg music many moons ago, whilst in Marrakesh and Essaouira, then got into Tinariwen & Etran Finatawa later, mesmerising stuff.

If you liked that check out Page and Plant's record from 1994 - No Quarter.

What strikes me from the BBC 4 program is how content where he is at with his music and not chasing the glory with continuing to try and bring Led Zepplin back.

Wasn't 'Win my train fare home' the concept album based on Jim Bowen and Bullseye?
