Scary, let’s hope the west wakes up and prepares. I expect there’s no doubt Navalny was murdered, but as usual it will be covered up.

Covid demonstrated both the complicit nature of govt inc with the us funding wuhan to the dearth of real leaders in the world. Until people say no nothing changes.
 
Video of him yesterday joking, apart from looking thin as he has done for some time now, he looked ok. So today, he’s having a walk and falls down dead. Yeah right, When will the Russian people wake up, they did so in the revolution, they need another one.
 
I could never understand why he went back to t Russia knowing he would be arrested and imprisoned.

Worryingly some experts are saying this is Putin cleaning house prior to expanding his war into other European countries.
 
Not been impressed with experts thus far because prevention is better than cure. He doesn’t need to do anything as Europe will implode on its own. Spain and Italy will repeat history due to AI making unemployment figures untenable, Germany needs Russian gas and will play cuckhold and France is a tinder box due to unassimilated immigration. It will have a Muslim majority in the next decade.

I think he misjudged momentum and that the oligarchs are doing nicely thank you very much. One in ten people is an informant.
 
Thank goodness I live in the UK. No country is without faults but some are totally evil and anti humane.
At least we have a judicial system that appears to be reasonably OK.
We have a voting system, which could be improved, but allows us to have our say every few years on who should govern us. Just to add at this point that those elected do not necessarily do a good job and that applies to them all.
We have a Royal Family, hated by some but loved by others, who are there as a buffer should things go wrong, hopefully, and save us from having a president.
We have free speech, to a limit obviously, and many other benefits besides.
Compare this to other countries, and I'm sure there are other points which could be made about them all.

Russia, in the news presently, no free speech, no free elections, no opposition and people spied on, no doubt, daily.
China, as above plus the mistreatment of minorities.
North Korea, where to start!
India, Moslems rights regularly affected plus the cast system which affects all the lower end of the population.
Many Moslem countries around the world. Few, if any ,women's rights, hanging, flogging and dictatorship.
The good old USA, Gun crime endemic, Race relations still strained, the choice of Biden or Trump as President, who would you vote for?
Many EU countries, too many to mention, also have their faults, including France, Germany, Italy and Spain.

I'll settle for what we have in this country, not perfect, but a damned site better than a lot of them.
 
The West needs a different approach to Russia. We should be telling the Russians, at every available opportunity, that we support and appreciate them. That our gripe is with Putin and his thuggish regime.

Sounds good in principle, but the only Russians we deal with are people like Lavrov and other Putin's monkeys. In the end it's up to the Russian population to revolt but there's little likelihood of this as things stand.

I was thinking of social media rather than formal Government routes of communication.

It’s nice you think that but is it true? Do you really think you have more freedom than a uk resident of forty years ago? Britain spies on its own people more than the bulk of countries in the world. From cameras on the streets to the size of your bank account, to health matters you lead an unprecedented examined life yet are you any safer?

Is there anyone on this board who doesn’t know someone who has been robbed? As for justice I’ll wager the jails have a majority of ethnic minorities, economically poorer and illegal immigrants for inmates. It won’t be the likes of the Michelle Mone’s of the world who will get away with all she’s done. Ask yourself then why? Are these groups that fill our prisons less honest or are they set up from birth by our institutions for example education and healthcare to not have the body, mind and spirit to fulfill and contribute their full potential to society?

It is because people are distracted by kardashian breasts, Taylor Swift songs, football, darts, online porn, bills and keeping a roof over their heads that they don’t have time to pay attention, think and demand better and we all pay the price for that with the ultimate sacrifice of another world war that looms ever nearer on the horizon.

Read my first line, where I say 'No country is without faults but some are totally evil and anti humane.' I don't think that tag can be levelled at the UK. If anything we are often too soft with those who seek to destroy the country.

I still say i would rather live in the UK than anywhere else.
