Sadler speaks

Thank you Simon having been at the fans forum my instincts told me you would fulfil OUR dreams and turn Blackpool f.c into a football club we can all be proud of .

Thank you Sir you have made a lifelong fan extremely happy .UTMP

That was a great read
As I have said on the pod I was the calmest I’ve ever been at a playoff final because I knew that whatever the outcome the club is going in the right direction
I more than most know what a mess our club was in when the CAR was appointed in Feb 19
The turnaround since is incredible and despite his modesty down in the main to one man who clearly has lived and breathed as well as funded every improvement to BFC - a feat which is all the more incredible when you bear in mind that he was at the same time operating his very successful business on the other side of the world
Personally I’d thought we’d have been looking at at least five years ‘ to turn around the oil tanker ‘ as it needed so much attention just to make it function as a normal club as behind the rusting facade everything was crumbling
The fact that the BFC oil tanker has not just been turned it around but also secured promotion so quickly is a phenomenal achievement
Interesting that Simon picked up on the connect point as again it’s something we’ve discussed on the pod - how weird it was to feel that connect when you’ve not seen a majority of the players play. Getting to watch them twice and to see in the flesh how great a team this is was very special ( though not good for the voice ) and I now can’t wait to get back to Bloomfield Rd next season to let them all see what an atmosphere 10K + can make
Time for all supporters to lend their financial and vocal support for the rebirth of BFC
We are experiencing what I’d christened ‘ a Tangerine Renaissance ‘ and that’s down to what Michael Bolingbroke once described as our unicorn - Simon Sadler
As a fan base we fought long and hard for this
Time now to enjoy the fruits of victory 🍊

The best thing about that (for me) is the enthusiasm and ambition without the tedious bullshit that was always underpinning any similar statement from the previous...
No negativity, just enjoyment of the journey so far, an honest appraisal of where we can keep improving and how it can be done and a clear understanding of what we as fans are expecting from our club.
I also love little points raised about BST and the Armfield Club and his understanding that all these pieces of the puzzle make the club bigger and better. Karl and Owen would have been immediately fearful of both because they couldn’t control or earn from either.

I just wish the new season was starting now. UTMP.

A very worthwhile read. It's good to understand his concerns, to realise how he thinks - as a football fan - and to learn about the manner in which he is trying to realise all our ambitions

The Club has NEVER looked healthier.
Hats off to SS.....I'm so pleased his investment and vision has been justified so quickly.
We can all look forward to an exciting future under this ownership and I can't wait for the challenges of next season.

Tim,

the connectivity comes from trust between fans and club. Something that had long been lost and has now returned. I might add that Trust has played a major part in that too so don’t underestimate your own part in that. 👍🏻

Quite emotional reading that.

We now need to do our bit and get spending on season tickets or in the club shop.

I hope we can now understand that club and fans are one after years of grief, and stop the pointless hindsight led criticism that sometimes infects this site. Let's argue about team selection for sure, but just get behind Simon, Critch and the Team.

Can't wait for the season to start.

If this paragraph doesn't make you well up

and then grabbed Ben to go down to the pitch. Lads who grow up on Glastonbury Avenue and Bispham Road don’t normally get to go on the hallowed Wembley turf to celebrate their hometown football club getting promoted as fans, let alone as owner and I enjoyed every moment of it.

Sums up everything about him.

Oh and he's put us on notice; not quick route to the PL, we will continue to operate within a budget and play our way there. We will earn promotion together.

Magnificent read.

It’s an excellent owner’s blog because as well as promoting his ambitions and plans he also, straightforwardly and honestly, sets out our limits and reasonable expectations. Even if trying to emulate the top-to-bottom Barcelona playing strategy! Bring on the Championship... I think we might spring a few surprises.

It's just so different, and refreshing, to what we've been used to. A club that's united, and an owner that's honest, ambitious and that cares about the thing fans care about. The comment about the rusty stanchions is telling - it's about taking pride and care in the club, and having standards.
I think the next few years are going to be genuinely exciting being a 'pool fan.

What a man, his next to the last paragraph misses out on one person who he has not thanked, so I will add it.

He wrote: 'A few other thank you’s before I wrap up. To Critch, his staff and the players for bringing us such joy and excitement this past year. They’ve sustained us during challenging times and I’m sure that I’m not the only one missing the Saturday-Tuesday routine. To Ben Mansford, Linton Brown, Brett Gerrity and all of the rest of the staff at the football club. They work incredibly hard and are building a football club that the town can be proud of. To our sponsors who, as a part of our Backing Blackpool initiative, continue to return to support and partner with us. To the Community Trust for all of the commendable work that they do in the locality. To Gillian and my family for their ongoing love, support, and understanding.'

To all the above I add my deepest gratitude and thanks to Simon himself, we, as fans appreciate him beyond all our wildest dreams of 5 years ago. At 73 years of age, I will certainly be Blackpool till I die. Thank you Simon for your investment in the club, the players, the stadium, and the fans. You are certainly our No1.

Refreshingly honest and open but the guy exudes self belief in what he is doing and actually surprised himself by exceeding what he thought he could achieve.

Best of all, that feeling of togetherness as a club from Directors to Management to Players and Fans and that we are all pulling in the same direction and any scars born from the last few years really need putting to bed, this is the New Good Old Blackpool, lets ALL get behind it and see where the journey takes us.

No need for him to tell us he was a fan from the age of two. It’s apparent from every word that he loves the club and is in awe of his ownership just like any of us would be In his shoes.
Love his total honesty. No over promising and under achieving here.
To go from the worst owners to the best in the league is Walt Disney stuff but it’s for real and just reward for all the fans efforts over the last decade.

A great read he deserves all the success weve achieved so far long may it continue fans must be aware though that he hasnt got bottomless pockets and to keep there expectations realistic we are in a crazy division where some clubs will throw millions at there attempt to reach the premier league risking everything i think Simons approach is very pragmatic its hard to argue with that though some will.

Great read.

A remarkable turnaround from where we were less than two years ago.

The most outstanding element for me is the passion that Simon Sadler and Brett Gerrity have for the club having been proper fans for decades.

The club is in great and very safe hands.
