As long as you're not booked with Jet2 you should be OK.
Had our trip to Italy cancelled for 2nd time.

Apparently Jet2 can now predict covid as that was the excuse they gave us for cancelling the flight FOUR weeks in advance.

Just tell the truth and tell us you've ballsed up on manning levels.

Current holiday in Portugal drawing to an end.
The only other breaks I’ve got planned are a few festivals and walking the Loch Ness 360 in September.

Oh that’s terrible, we are flying with jet2 too. I hope it don’t get cancelled

Blackpool for me. With the odd day trip to the daughters just south of Doncaster.
I know how to live don't I.😁😁😁😁

Rhodes beginning of July. Looking forward to it, been told the old town is worth a visit. If anyone has been would be grateful for any recommendations on where or what to do

Just got back from Malaga, fortunately we had no issues at Manc airport whatsoever, next up is Corfu in 4 weeks followed by Italy in September.

Waiting on ticket availability for the World Cup, but hopefully Qatar in November after that.

Did you actually stay in Malaga RB? Been looking at that this morning for September

Just back from Las Vegas, next up is Stockholm, we're also planning a few nights in Porto or Marrakech. As for this country, we'll have a few long weekends on the Jurassic Coast, Lake District and Scotland in the campervan also.

Due to unforeseen circumstances....

Frankfurt for a couple of days next week, followed by a few days in Hanoi then home to Singapore.

Then...

Thailand and Laos in June.
Perth, Brisbane and Sydney in July for the Rugby.
Bali for a couple of weeks in September
KL for a few days with @Torycorner when he visits for the Singapore Grand Prix
Cambodia in October
Bahrain & Qatar in November / December for the World Cup.

The Gold Coast for Xmas and New Year 👍

Whats happening in Frankfurt ? There's a few people I know going to Seville next week 😉

The medial city is definitely worth a visit as is the harbour area. Lindos including the Acropolis worth a visit.
Depends where you are staying,we were on the East Coast in an excellent hotel right on the beach in a beautiful bay not far from Lindos but this was a few years ago.
Rhodes airport is close to most of the main hotels literally.
Hope you like it hot…..it was 34+C every day in June….and very sunny😉so suggest sightseeing early if possible.

can recommend Kos and especially Kefalonia for alternative Greek Islands too.

As for us two….nowhere booked as we still don’t fancy Flying so maybe a couple of UK short breaks some time outside the school holidays..Sister in Law from Singapore is with us briefly in June and wants a day trip to the Lakes and that’s about it.

Eyeing up the cruise websites ( definitely our preferred holidays these days) for any late year or more likely next year bargains but no fly ones.

Anywhere but traveling abroad I can't even get in half the countries because of my vaccine status add on mask wearing they can fuck themselves untill normality returns .

Plenty of choice for foreign travel but also fully understand your 'get fucked' stance.

Planning another UK trip soon, hopefully next week, as the forecast looks ok. It'll be the Dales more than likely. Leaving it up to the Mrs as she always suggests I get my own way & plan the details too. I'll see what she comes up with 🤞🙄

En route to Seville in 2 weeks(thanks to the AVFTT jury) via Paris and Barcelona
There was a thread on here years ago about Seville which had loads of ideas - but dammed if I can find it.

Anyway, this was in The Times last Sunday....

The seven best Tapas bars in Seville.

1. Mercado Lonja del Barranco

The Spanish have long enjoyed dining out on small dishes from many vendors, so having a food court in Seville brings the global tapas trend full circle. Since 2014, the 1880s riverside glass-and-iron former fish market hall has played host to about 20 food and drink stalls. This is the place to mix and match, judgment-free: why not have Spanish seafood rice with an Aperol spritz, or a glass of rioja with some sushi?

2. El Rinconcillo

There are — by one possibly enthusiastic estimate — more than 3,000 tapas joints in Seville, and with its foundation date of 1670, El Rinconcillo claims seniority over them all. This corner bar by the church of Santa Catalina is certainly on the tourist trail, but the vintage ambience is justified, down to the hanging hams and tabs chalked up on the counter. Seville-specific tapas include spinach with chickpeas, spiced with cumin.

Castizo

3. Castizo

Opened in 2017 on the long but narrow Calle Zaragoza in the Arenal neighbourhood, Castizo takes a neo-traditional approach: neither sawdust and sherry barrels, nor fusion tapas. Behind the blue awning, the wood-lined interior is warm and understated. Pull up a seat at the bar by the open kitchen and order finely executed classics such as cod fritters, scallops in their shells or pork loin in whisky sauce, with the odd artistic spin.

La Azotea Vinos

4. La Azotea Vinos y Tapas

Among the main movers in Seville’s tapas new wave has been La Azotea. Its flagship branch is a straight-up restaurant now, with more of a bar atmosphere in neighbouring La Tienda, but the third venture Vinos y Tapas stands out for offering something different on the ultra-touristy Calle Mateos Gago. Besides the Andalusian focus of the wine list, vegetables make a stronger-than-average showing on the menu. The highlight? Courgette carpaccio with anchovies and goat’s cheese “snow”.

La Brunilda

5. La Brunilda

To see what tapas can be when not afraid to break out of the mould, look behind the big blue door on an Arenal backstreet. A modern bistro-like space with exposed stone walls and a half-dozen seats at the bar in addition to restaurant tables, La Brunilda has a menu mixing dishes old (ham croquetas) and new (tuna tataki), plus spins on originals, such as a chilled salmorejo soup made with beetroot rather than tomato.

6. Bar Europa

Coming up to its centenary, Bar Europa, in a tangle of old-town lanes, shows there’s still life in the perro viejo yet. The space is quite tight, with bar stools and small tables lining the blue-and-white tiled walls, plus a few more outside on the cobbles. What comes out of the kitchen though is frequently inventive, with many a fish tartare or tapas-sized pasta dish, alongside all the expected Iberian hams and cheeses.

Bodeguita Romero

7. Bodeguita Romero

The crowds gather at this institution, now in its eighth decade, above all for its montadito de pringa — slow-cooked pork in a toasted roll. Also claimed to be the best in Seville is the papas aliñas, a deceptively simple vinegary potato salad. Despite the bar’s location in the heart of the old town near the cathedral, it hasn’t got lazy from easy custom, and there’s an excellent sherry list to accompany the proudly old-school tapas.

Already been to Sri Lanka, Hanoi, Halong Bay and the Maldives this year.

I haven't travelled anywhere for 2.5 years and need to catch up before we leave Singapore at some point.

Also remember the places I am going to in Asia are like going to Majorca from Manchester.

I’m thinking of doing a driving tour of Italy next year TAM either flying to Pisa or Bergamo and picking the hire car up from there. Done Tuscany a few times and Siena is the most stunning place you can imagine as are the Italian lakes, but if you don’t have the time to drive to Riva stay south of the lake and visit Sirmione very pretty place.

Blackpool for 4 weeks. First time seeing my family and friends in 3 years thanks to Covid. I've never been more excited about going back. I keep wondering how much has changed over that time.

Check out hire car prices.

I recently tried to hire a car for 3.5 weeks and they wanted £4k (that's not a typo) for a 4 door average saloon.
