Season ticket sales thus far

I'm not sure why anybody would want to be critical of the Preston ticket sales and policy

Free kids and cheap tickers, whats not to like about that?

Football is generally too expensive in this country and if a club is trying to do something to break the mold surely they should be applauded for it

Even if it is the bastards from down the road
Yeah it's good at that price for getting fans in, not as good at making cash if you want to be sustainable unless you really hit even higher numbers.

I've said myself we should do more but I wouldn't want the club losing cash like the nobbers seem happy to do each year.

I think its more the daft nobbers who then say we're smashing them in sales, despite our early bird window only going a couple of weeks and clearly at that level you'd expect what we're seeing now.

Let's face it they're only doing it now because the owners want to sell, they literally tried to unload to the first chancer who came along, then suddenly its cheap ticket time, bit of a coincidence.

The season before at a higher price they only sold around 7.2k ST, with aprox 2.4k full paying adults. Which for a Championship club is staggeringly low. No wonder they lose money.

They call us tinpot but that is a terrible amount.

Cheap season tickets is a double edged sword. PNE selling tickets at an average of 70% of the cost of what we’re selling at means if we sell 8000 again they need to shift 11000+ to match our income. And yes potentially those extra 3000 or so spend more in the ground, but those extra 3000 will be made up of some fairly regular match day attendees who would otherwise have been there and paying higher prices overall (so further lost income) and those who would are taking the ticket deal on the basis it’s cheap and therefore now affordable (not likely to be big spenders on the concourses). Increased customers comes with increased operating costs in terms of stewarding, policing, stadium maintenance etc. Selling ST’s in the Kop also dramatically reduces the ability to sell to large away followings (further reducing potential income), increases the need for policing, stewarding and stadium staffing generally.
PNE’s average gate may increase anywhere from 12000 or so to 14000/15000 over the next season (if they have a similar season) but their income is likely to increase negligibly if at all. They’re taking a gamble on having a good season and hoping increased gates help drive improved performance on the pitch. And then you must imagine hope to capitalise on any increased interest created in future seasons by pushing prices higher again. It’s very much a gamble. A bad season could be catastrophic for future ST sales and attendances.

Also worth noting that a high value is put on ST sales by all clubs as it’s guaranteed income and money in the bank during the close season when there’s no other revenue streams. The desperation and early push for ST sales would make me nervous if I were a PNE fan as it could indicate the financial situation isn’t all what is cracked up to be. It could also be the desperate last grab at income we saw from the Oyston regime with the ‘Riga Revolution’ ticket sales.

Just had a quick look on the rovers forum, now they are downbeat.

This latest ticket deal didn't go down well....

A headline grabbing £850 isn't really that appealing is it? Even broken down is still more expensive than most...

They have extended the early bird dealine though, but probably more through desperation.

I remember when the Oystons made season tickets cheap. It increased crowds - we averaged over 14k that season. But the policy was a substitute for a decent team. For me, it can be a warning sign that the board isn't confident that the team itself will be attracting fans to the ground due to its success on the pitch.
Think we finished 20th that year, and rock bottom the year after
It'll all depend on how much the owners are willing to invest. But the fact is that next season, if PNE sold 10,000 season tickets we would only need to sell 7,600 to bring in more money.
Very true that. The two year season ticket offer was proven to be a way of grabbing cash up front quicker knowing it wasn't going on the team.

I smell a fish that the PNE owner is open to selling one minute and then making offers like this the next. Time wil tell.

Good job every family has precisely 2 adults and 2 kids.

The single and only time the Preston fans made noise at their home game was around 90 minutes, absolutely anonymous prior to that.

Thick and absolutely beyond delusional. I fancy them to get relegated next season, you can't get loanees right every time. And that coupled with Derby was why they didn't go down.

They go on about how good that Riis is, if he was any good, he wouldn't be at Preston. He'd be at a big club or on his way.
Would you like a bet, £100 to go to the winners choice of charity? I'm happy to put my money upfront and let your chief admin person hold it. The bet being from you is that North End are relegated next season whilst mine is that we are not relegated next season. Let's see how much you really 'fancy' North End to get relegated next season or are you all mouth?

I don’t really care how many tickets PNE sell, but given the current economic climate, I believe we’ve made a mistake and misjudged our ST prices. At the very least we should be one of the cheaper prices. I applaud any efforts to grow a supporter base, so that includes PNE.

You all keep saying cheap tickets but we will have to sell them 10,500 now & it shows the demand is there that’s what counts

They don’t pay up they Welsh on there bets like last season. Who are you .keeping his head down now

Todays news will have a big impact on the numbers now. An exciting appointment quickly will change that however
Yeah can work both ways, right now people will be reeling but tbh I'm already over it.

No one man is bigger than the club.

The fans support the team and roar them on its always been a factor in why we punch above our weight and were going nowehere.

An exciting appointment could actually sell more if they get it right and in the next week or so.

Or just extend the deadline if not and market the new guy.

I’m not too bothered he’s gone, just him going as a number 2 is what gets me. I fear for what his reasons for leaving are, which is more bothering personally.

New manager and an extension would be ideal marketing material, however needs to be someone exciting. So you think a Critch like appointment, someone unknown, would have a positive impact on the sales?

Yeah we won't know the reasons, might just be wages and if he's a number 2 there he's ready for the a prem managers job next, who knows.

Its a weird one.

I dont know of they'll go left of field again, but whoever it is will have to fit in with the club philosophy were trying to build.

In that we want to play like the fans want to see, on the front foot pressing, running through brick walls and playing an attractive brand of football. But also able to adapt at times.

Not asking fo much then....

But I'm sure we'll get someone good.

Only person I can think of to fit this, is Ian Evatt

I would imagine he'll take the 7/2 with the bookies (skybet) rather than your extremely generous evens 🤣.

One small mercy is that I won't be getting a 'personal' call from Critch asking why I'm not renewing now.

Would you have got a call anyway?

No reason not to renew, its Blackpool fc not Critchley fc.

Same players with more to come.

Local derbies, whoever we get it'll be another adventure.

Any ST holders should renew.

Hate to break it to you but people have been counting dots for years.

Yet with all the bluster still no current count, no estimate. 👎

TT did the thread last year with a counting app, much easier than by eye.

Many were involved, me included but yet given your clear pioneering skills in the industry you were nowhere to be seen, you abandoned the last count, still dining out on your 450 thread seemingly 🙄

So I'm sorry to say you've let yourself down and the millions who were waiting for your next big contribution.

A real shame.

I showed you how to do it, then moved on to other activities. There’s no point or fun in repeating the same thing year after year. A bit like David Bowie, you know. 😉

Good to see some areas still ticking down, like block k now all gone, with st holders reserved that is.

The best way to send a ✌️to Neil Critchley is to sell more tickets than last season and show we're there for the club and not him.

…and he hasn’t for most Nobbers assuming you mean Ryan Lowe.
The atmosphere has really changed since Craig Hemmings took charge, mainly because the fans are being listened too.
Yes, that Trevor Hemmings did nothing for the club.
