Season ticket sales thus far

Yours are only £30 up to 12 years old for kids & free under 5 ours are £130 for 12 year olds .
If u lot had sold that many ST we would never have heard the last of it.
Just admit your fans are jealous of our fans & every thing about our club .
Please can you now just admit Sadler your owner isn't your shinning armour .
Critchley was interviewed for the Rovers job before he chose Villa that shows how big you are .
You keep trying to make these comparisons but the 30 quid is only in the family area, which holds aprox only 800 and is now mostly full. The free to under 5s is again only in that area. Outside that 800 people area the prices are more and under 5's aren't free.

Yours is free to under 11s in the whole stadium anywhere, any time.

It's a big difference, you keep trying to paint it as similar no doubt so you can brag about numbers and say well there's not much difference. 🙄

I don’t really care how many tickets PNE sell, but given the current economic climate, I believe we’ve made a mistake and misjudged our ST prices. At the very least we should be one of the cheaper prices. I applaud any efforts to grow a supporter base, so that includes PNE.
Yeh but you'd be pretty pissed off if you were quoted t bone steak with all the trimmings and ended up with pie and chips, welcome to Deepdale 🤪

Tbf Neil is right and I said we should be one of the cheapest based on wealth in the area and the current times, but we do have fairly reasonable prices, especially in the family area for eg.

However I still think we'll grow on last seasons amount and taking away very cheap prices like PNE we are priced pretty well compared to some.

Many of us want to fill the stadium but the reality is it is quite full and has issues that limit what a deal like that needs. Could still be done but not fully taken advantage of and the east is an issue as it stands.

I would have liked to have seem a slight reduction even just as a nod to the times, but the prices are OK.

Well just have to see how the take up has been.

No announcement at all yet, they might not be announcing each small milestone and waiting to break last seasons first?

I think the deadline should be extended by a couple of days just to help people get past the next payday and also because of the disruption with the manager and website issues.

Also I might do another count on the seat planner. There was 9172 unavailable last time, again doesn't mean that's what sold as there's some unknown amounts to minus off the and that's assuming all renewed, which they won't.

But it'll be interesting to see how many have gone since last time, as some have been coming back on in the north and going again, not sure why or if it was people changing seats or more of the front rows released...not sure why that would happen so seems unlikely.

STs already done and bought Gers tickets, a scarf, a t shirt and a junior football kit, tangerine TV + Audio. Its easy when you know the
money will be put to good use.

If you've got the money. That's a fair amount.

If the club had any sense they would extend early bird until the Rangers game as I know a few coming up for that game - good match might inspire a few to purchase?
I would extend it until the beginning of the season ,nothing to lose ,maybe a few more season ticket holders to gain.

Just did a quick count on the seat planner.

Bear in mind, all ST's are reserved still, so some will come back on if and when they don't sell.

We also have the north seats now back in use so I've used a full stand capacity to calculate that, definitely saw some of them on sale and now all sold out, so either people have moved or new sales there.

Not sure if people do move if it undoes their old seat yet, so bear that in mind.

We also have the front row of the south not available, presumably disabled so am assuming that'll be sold out eventually, but they don't put on there so people don't take them?

Also m block is likely to have seats reserved for the hospitality people who get put there.

So this count will be over the actual amount even of we all renew.

But interesting nevertheless to see.

I count 1347 seats still available.

Minus off the N, N corner, west, S corner and south stand capacity of 10,519.

That leaves 9172 as unavailable.

But as said it will be less than that and far too many unknowns yet before we say for sure, but does seem to me it should be ahead of last year.
So an update since May 28th, nearly a month later...

I count 1112 seats unavailable, all the same caveats as above, south front row is presumed as all sold as they are never on sale online but are for disabled people etc.

The unknown amount to be taken off in m block which some are reserved for hospitality...

Anyway 10,519 the apparent total for the 3 sides, minus 1112 = 9407 unavailable.

It all comes down to how many won't renew, there will be some for sure.

But if this tells us anything, there's 235 less seats available that last time I counted. So presuming when people move, it frees their seat up (as we have seen a lot coming on and off) that should be new sales....

The only worrying thing is no update yet, I'd expect the majority to renew, but as said given the manager disruption, the early bird date falling close to or on payday for some and the technical issues with the website etc, the early bird date for me has to be extended. I don't see the harm once the deadline is nearly up in extending a few days, a week, whatever....

I think we’ll be around the 6,500 mark. Down around 1,000 on last season.

Can blame many factors:

The price of living and football being a luxury
No payment plan EVERYONE can use, £369 a lot to go out in one chunk & Blackpool is a pretty deprived area
Fans discontent at rivals priced. They see Deepdale being £90 cheaper and feel hard done by. The fact is preston can afford to have cheap season tickets as their ground is too big for them and any lost revenue will be made up on match day revenue. Very clever marketing from
Ridsdale and co that should be applauded not mocked.

I’d extend it until the end of the season. I got mine opening day. I’m mad keen. Would be a shame if we lost the momentum from last season

We sold 8k last season.

There will se some who don't renew and go to tickets, but a huge amount?

The club were confident of selling more than last season.

We also have the young adult price which may make a small difference.

But I agreed at the time I thought it the wrong move to go up in price. A small discount at least gave a positive message.

As for PNE, a good initiative to fill the ground, they won't make up all the revenue on match day sales. Some yes but not enough. Also their matchday revenue will be down as many who did that last season will have a ST, so less on tickets and also a rise to 28 quid for them. It's not about money though and maybe if the club earns a similar amount, it's about the extra fans attending that matters to a fanbase. From that perspective it looks a success. Hardly surprising though as many have said on here a cheap price will attract people and people shot down that price was a big factor, clearly a bit of food for thought for some.

As for us 6500 would be shit, to go backwards 1500 would be deemed a complete failure from the club and fans to me. Seems awfully pessimistic...

Given the current unavailable seats on the planner that would mean an awful lot not renewing.

Definitely should have a little or larger extension though due to the factors I mention above.

Surely the only people not renewing are people who’s personal circumstances have changed ? I would imagine we will be around the 8K mark again this season.

At the least I'd want the same amount as last season and with the amount unavailable on the planner it would suggest we'd need an awful lot not to renew to fall below last season or get near athers prediction, unless the ticketing site is way off. We know it'll be less that the amount of seats unavailable, but that many....

We shouldn’t judge too much by the June deadline day.
Many leave it until the week before season begins even though it will cost them extra.
We are funny creatures of habit and many don’t like parting with money until last minute or deciding on pre-season activity.

Why would you leave it late and pay more? That strikes me as, pardon my bluntness, a bit thick

Tbf the end of the early bird deadline is usually most of the total.

Last season when I did counts it was always more than the final total.

The actual about 300 less than the count.

This was with covid still fresh and we had 7500 ish announced that didn't include corporate, all together eventually we ended up about 8k.

So given my seat count in a post above being much higher, I was feeling positive.

Many would have not to renew to post a poor amount.

9407 unavailable, will include some areas of reserved etc, the counts last year were a lot lower than this, even if they were still higher then the actual including reserved seats etc.

This season we have the north front seats too. I did try and factor those is last time as missing.

I could be wrong and its weird we haven't had an announcement, but it seems we're ahead, if we get a high renewal rate. I haven't seen a huge indication that many aren't renewing....

But with the disruption of no manager and some technical issues we might need that bit extra early bird time.

Doesn,t matter how many more the knobbers sell it will still be a shit atmosphere ,ours will always be better

Feels like 8-9k STs
This means we now have found our solid base. Hopefully the casuals from last season come again and grow their love? I know for me as a uni kid it took me 4 seasons as a potg before I committed to a ST

All those teens that loved the North last year will be getting the bug. In years to come they’ll be earning wages and invest. With a club on the up in 5 years our base can be 10-12k.

We know with even 10k home fans the atmosphere is awesome. It’ll build nicely over time if we stay at this level and keep the noise up

If say we sell 10k season tickets, when the east stand gets developed will we stop away fans from attending games, there’ll be no where for them to sit ??

That's an interesting point. Unless we got some kind of dispensation to limit the number of visiting fans to below the required percentage during construction, there might even be a need to deny some ST holders a renewal and move some others to create a manageable space for visiting fans.

If they're clever with the building you might be able to do it in stages.

Over one summer you could probably build the ne corner and get it usable, adding another 1k. But that side of the east might have to go, which is largely unused current anyway.

You might then be able to keep the other half, then do the east the following season.

There's always a little bit of spare hospitality space when you could move a few too.

Also the se corner, plus 3 sides, plus a new ne corner would be about 12k. Not even including hospitality.

So you might be able to get away with it, give away fans 10% of current capacity.

Several things will have impacted on sales. NC walking out, lack of excitement/activity in the transfer market, still to reveal 2022 kit, plus of course the fact that people are less well off than they were 12 months ago.

The atmosphere won’t change though, whatever the amount of STs sold.

So if possible this is what I mean.

Phase 1, north of the east goes. Season is planned to have us away last game so we can start early and away first game of next season. Ne corner is built over the longer summer.

Phase 2 the following season, south part of the east comes down and work begins on the full stand.

Also don't know if when at phase 2 after knocking the remaining east but down if the new east would be built in halves or not, to further mitigate the disruption.

But if not would still be better doing it the above way. But of course I'm just a fan and I haven't built many stands....

It's hilarious to think, when I read your excellent positive post, what absolute whoppers the Oystons were/are. What an absolute Horlicks they made of running BFC.

Beginning to look like a poor year / perfect storm for ST sales.
You’ve got the high ST prices - a bad mistake imo. We should be one of the cheapest.
Malfunctioning website - unforgivable really.
Cost of living crisis.
A popular manager leaving / not a popular choice for his replacement.
Lack of any positive signings.
Can’t believe there’s not a payment plan. Even Karl recognised the benefit of one.

We’ve had the interesting TG & East Stand update, but that’s not going to make people rush out and buy ST’s.

Not too sure it will be poor, unless a load don't renew who did last year. But a small rise isn't much but imo sends the wrong message. Yes the club will be hit by higher costs too but so are the fans and many might have been close to not affording before. A freeze would be more marketable but a small reduction would have helped and sent out a message that the club knows the situation. From the club pov though they will say people want a competitive team that keeps progressing but its hard to get that with less money. Ita about finding that balance where the most renew and make the most money.

The website has been fine for me but clealry had had and is having issues, very poor to still be having them now. Launched with urban zoo who must be the software company, I imagine are being pressed to figure it out...

The signings will come, not many have made good signings yet.

There is a payment plan, although only v12 finance 6 month plan. I dont get how other clubs can get them and also like Hull have a monthly payment plan, with I think no interest.

They should definitely extend the deadline though to give people a bit longer given the disruption.

Whilst I agree with most of that, it just feels like the club haven’t pushed hard enough in resolving the affordability & website issues - all relatively easy to fix.
Ticket Sales and the whole marketing piece that goes alongside seems to be an area that could perhaps be improved. Obviously we’re not clear on how ST sales are going at this stage, but it does seem like things have conspired against us this year.

Yeah, I won't argue about it being cheaper, I've argued for such a model. In an area like Blackpool it should be cheaper but we also want to compete in the championship will be their thinking and not really able to make the most of a cheaper deal like pne with more space atm.

Cost have risen but I've only just really begun to feel it, if people bought a ST last season you'd think most could this, as it's only a tenner more. Afterall energy has gone up but the heating shouldn't have been used a lot since it did, as its summer and also there's the 150 quid received and more on the way to offset any bills rises somewhat. Food etc has gone up yes but what I'm saying is to buy a ST people would have presumably been saving from April, May or using the spare money they have, so the rises might not have fully affected people yet. I know its not ideal but you can spilt it over 6 payments, which is more manageable if you can get thr v12. If most want to be there and could before most should still be able to imo. Of course they'll be cases where they can't. But we also have the young adult price. There's just still space in the family stand just for a few more together at a cheaper price. People tend to cut costs maybe some will cut bfc, but when its a big part of your life, I'd be cutting other stuff first.

The website issues were in part a lack of knowing about the issues, some went into junk and people missed them, some went to junk and had no link until moved to inbox, again easily solved. Some have been getting redirect to partner issues and getting stuck, however a quick call or email and the club were sorting. Probably some more issues and its not been good to have them, but its also for some cases been easy to follow the instructions and fix. But I dont think there's been an official acknowledgement of tying to fix the issues yet, there's been instructions yes but no acknowledgement of it affecting some still.

But I've already said we should extend the deadline when the other is nearly up, it'll help given the disruption and also helps to include for sure another payday.

I don’t see any harm in doing an extension....

Yeah let's have cheaper tickets than anyone else ... and spend more on the squad.

Anyone good at budgeting and maths on here?
