What will it take to sell another thousand or so?

Surprisingly it seems like the promising signings (so far) and the great bonding sessions from Spain are not enough?

Fuck all.
Always find it strange these kinds of threads from someone who has no intention of buying a ST, doesn't live in the town and has no idea how the area works.

And why would I buy a season ticket living over 500 miles away (round trip) when I have other more important commitments most weekends during the football season.

That said I should get to 5/6 away games this coming season all being well, not that I need to justify to a knob like you!

Your the nob who started this thread who wants an Extra 1000 ST sold.
Feckin idiot who likes to talk the talk if you seriously wanted to support the club you'd do what @hertfordseasider & @seasideone have done won't go many games buy a ST to put some money in the till not as ever you snipe from the sidelines.

Really? Any need for name calling.

If we average about 10,000 that's decent for us. According to stats we only managed 12,000 last time we were promoted to the Championship. I really don't know why people suddenly think we can add a few thousand on top of that, without spending tens of millions more.

People don't really notice pre season ,or the names of players we bring in from other clubs unless you are already a supporter . They will begin to notice when we are in the top 3 of this league and looking like we are going to achieve something . That's when our crowds start to go up.

A non abusive reply to the O/p is that it doesn't seem the club can really do too much more to encourage ST sales baring promotion.

This is about as positive as the base have been since Critch Mk1 and they made compromises on pricing albeit not perfect on the younger pricing. They've brought in standing for the North too as many wanted.

Maybe giving dirt cheap pricing for U21 might encourage some more but I'm not convinced, as the 16-21 age group don't struggle to find cash for concerts or festivals- they just don't want to go to L1 footy.

So promotion is just about our only hope imho

In a higher division I wonder if they could consider the South as more of a family stand?

Big concourse and area outside where they could make it somehow family orientated and get that stand more full?

Not sure as I don't sit in the South!

How many children do you think come to matches . If you look at the corners which I believe are the family stand areas they are half empty . Saying that there would be enough room behind the South to build a playground and a creche.

I think that's the point that many supporters are making? We don't get too many youngsters in and the experience isn't really aimed at them either.

Getting more adults in is based on League position, so one area we can improve on is children. It might need plenty of freebies though.

The area does not matter that much apart from trying to keep them away from aggressive away fans and possibly some of the bad language from our own supporters. I think the corners are probably the best place for them and they still have a choice of North or South.

In respect to more freebies ,instead of giving stuff to all the local schools who's parents would not take them to a match anyway . Maybe give the kids that are brought to matches a sticker book and at the end of the season depending on how many games they have attended they get a choice of prize from their favourite player.

This may keep the interest of some of the kids that are brought to matches and only 1 freebie per child is given away . Also as it is the end of the season they could be given free kit as a new one would be out the season after.

One of our mates lives away but as a season ticket. Only gets to a few games but wants to keep his seat with us and do is bit for the club.

Feel good factor could easily add a couple of thousand.

You sound like a very, very, very bitter man or women?..it's a shame you've never lived outside the Fylde coast - now I'm starting to make assumptions about someone I know Fcuk all about :)

I'm talking about the fans that haven't renewed...not a "few thousand" but it looks close to 1K

When Fleetwood and KFC go bust and the deserters come crawling back
Not sure it works that way indeed with both of those clubs suffering relegations recently; they're down to literally a few hundreds from the PR and FY5/6 who have actually bothered to renew STs there.

Btw there are still a number of supporters on the Fylde Coast who are still banned on the BFC from the PL and Championship days, after buying tickets for the home ends when Liverpool, ManU, Man C and a few other clubs who might be persuaded to get along to BR.
With PL games being switched to Sundays etc , silly ko times and rising costs being a huge hurdle its an option to fill those Saturday afternoons.

Some friends of mine from Preston take their lads to PNE and Blackburn now as they don't make the ballot that often, and its the same with our Greater Manchester lot who go and watch Wigan, Warrington Town and even the rugby league matches.

It's possible clubs like Liverpool and soon City and Everton with much increased capacities could impact on Pool ST sales.

City are currently building for 62,000, Everton 53,000 and United planning for an unlikely100,000!! Leeds looking to add 15,000 seats too.

I'll tell you what we need and I've said as much before.

Firstly we need to have a good season.

We've already addressed some issues with some price kids corrections and a DD scheme, that helps.

Although it's not a cheap ST scheme like some do to attract more. That would help.

However we need to keep doing the game deals but ideally think outside the box, like any fab can bring a new fan for free, or something like that.

People love a bargain so just get them through the doors.

A homecoming day maybe too.

Find ways to get people who don't come often or at all through the door, price helps, deals like that massively help, success helps a lot but isn't a guarantee like the other stuff is.

If you get a combination of them all you're flying.

Also we could leaflet drop the local areas, about ST or such a deal or whatever it is.

Get the message out there.

Get more local kids wearing BFC shirts etc, spreads the club image with free advertising and maybe becomes more cool and if you get the popular kids doing it more it can become the in thing in time.

There's much we can do, we're OK thw right patch to have a good season, do the deals and spread the word.

We can all do our bit by asking and encouraging others to go.

I agree with this one, for an example I’m a massive Aston Villa fan have been all my life went down for a number of years till last season as I’ve moved up here to Blackpool. It’s nearly 2k to have a season ticket now down there now which is redicalouse pricing out loyal fans for tourists etc just to watch a load of corruption in the premier league.

As stated before I’ve bought myself and my partners nephew a season ticket for Blackpool this season to help support the club watch proper football instead of the VAR bullshit and now Blackpool are my second team.

Next season will be like most seasons. It'll start with a healthy crowd then rise or fall depending on performances and results. If we do really well and sustain a top two position I would expect crowds of 12K+.

It helps comprehension.

Time to drop the obsession with ST sales. We’re going to do very very well this season and lots of people will jump on the bandwagon

I don't think it would take any individual player. All now down to how we start and walk ups on match days rather than ST's. Simon will be more than happy to see a 1000 or so walk ups every game generating about £30k each game (plus away fans). Season tickets are great for the summer coffers but even better to see someone pay almost twice the cost on a match day!

The problem also with ST sales now are that because the Stevenage tickets have been on sale, the best seats in the ground are largely taken by existing ST holders and opening day ticket sales.

Fans are banned from 15 years ago? Really?

Yup. I know you resolved your personal issue but those fans who were dealt with are still blocked, and as such really cant be bothered going crawling back just to watch the local team.

Sky TV etc is the easier option and thus an opportunity is lost.

Your last para contradicts the opening one ...to a point. It's the floaters who would be tempted to come back. Those who didn't like what was going on and found alternatives, albeit poor ones. Habits are hard to break

Nice to put it to empirical evidence though.

Wow. More than a bit unnecessary.

Look-I'm trying to be positive here and reflect on what's happened at say clubs like Wigan and Stockport where the latter has re-established a core fanbase from a point of almost no return. The Latics went on a tidy little run with an FA Cup triumph to top it off and managed to bring in support to tie in with that.

Habits are hard to break but top level football is becoming an almost unaffordable pastime, and certainly many families will be looking elsewhere for an alternative. I remember in the old days we could catch a bus from the Coliseum to Leeds for 90p and get into the boys pen for 50p, to just catch the tail end of Revies side -that's long since gone as it has at the Liverpools, with ManU supporters now starting a new club.

There is a catchment there and it needs a tweak or two to make it happen-or just sit back and let Sky etc provide the entertainment (glum smiley)
