Shaun Bailey

I hope this guy gets the job and sees off Khan.

Bailey's a charmless nerk, and somewhere to the right of Attila the Hun so I understand what you see in him Scare Monger.

Bailey has expressed concerns about liberalism, saying "the more liberal we have been, the more our communities have suffered".[1] Bailey has accused BBC's output as being biased and went on to suggest the BBC "sees itself as propagandist for liberal values", and that the licence fee should be split with other broadcasters.

Bailey supported leaving the European Union in the 2016 EU Referendum.

In 2005, Bailey suggested that working class people "look to rules", otherwise they may turn to crime.

In 2006, Bailey said "by giving children condoms and the amount of sexual material they are exposed to you normalise sex and they feel it is their divine right to have it, when actually it is not", and added "that is one of the things that drives their self-esteem up or down and leads to crime". It was later clarified that Bailey had not tried to suggest that access to abortions and contraceptive services had directly led to crime, however early sexual activity was a contributing factor to increased crime.

Bailey has said that children are using abortion services as contraception and has favoured reducing the time limit from 24 weeks to 22 weeks.

In an article in The Daily Telegraph in 2006, Bailey claimed that single mothers deliberately become pregnant in order to gain benefits, saying that they "won't be too careful about not becoming parents. In some cases, they will deliberately become pregnant - as they know that if they do, they will get a flat".[76][77] At an event at a Conservative party conference in 2008, he repeated these claims, saying that "Girls getting knocked up to get housing? It’s a cottage industry where I come from."

In October 2018, Bailey was accused of Islamophobia and Hinduphobia over the contents of a pamphlet entitled No Man’s Land, written for the Centre for Policy Studies in 2005. In it, Bailey said that celebrating Muslim and Hindu festivals "[robs] Britain of its community" and risked turning the country into a "crime riddled cesspool" as a result. He claimed that South Asians "bring their culture, their country and any problems they might have, with them" but that this was not a problem within the black community "because we’ve shared a religion and in many cases a language".[51] In the pamphlet, Bailey confused the Hindu religion and the Hindi language: "You don’t know what to do. You bring your children to school and they learn far more about Diwali than Christmas. I speak to the people who are from Brent and they’ve been having Muslim and Hindi days off.

I think you’re backing another loser here, Scara, though I see you’ve already moved from ‘I hope this guy gets the job’ to agreeing that you couldn’t give a toss who wins in five hours. That’s rapid, even by your standards 😂

How’s that then ?

He's a right wing nut job and as usual with right wing nut jobs just uses hyperbole with no substance, 'I'll wage war', oh aye, I bet you'll be on the front line of the morning raids yer gobshite.

There's also serious doubt about his integrity after the charity he started went bust after accusations of fraud.

He's basically a mini Trump.

Met Shaun a few times.. Got on well with him and like him - although I admit politically we are on opposing sides. Solid bloke who genuinely gives a shit especially about young people. I would not class him as a 'right wing nut job'. He was a youth worker for 20 years in London that's the front line Lytham fy8.

It's not the 'WAR!' front line is it? Where was he a youth worker? He doesn't appear to have worked for any organisation involved in youth work apart from his own charity?

He was involved in youth work with gangs and the related problems with families and communities. I can 100% state that he was involved in working at one time mentoring young guys and families unfortunately involved in gangs and 'county line' running. Yeah he worked at charity he co - founded but most youth work is voluntary, carried out by voluntary organisations and therefore charity based. His wasn't the first to go tits up nor the last. Support for youth work has been systematically torn apart by both Labour and Tory during my working life. Youth work is not mandatory or subject to statutory funding. I cannot remember a time during 14 years working at the Elephant and Castle (Voluntary organization) when I wasn't under threat of redundancy - six month service agreements - lovely jubbly.
I have worked in youth work ( Voluntary sector and statutory) and social work ( LA and NSPCC) for 28 years believe me my job was the front line in social care. For a time Shaun shared that front line which is more than can be said for many politicians.

Why are you so angry. Seek help.

I know tackling crime is important but he seems a bit crime obsessed. Not everything tracks back to crime. Well not in the real world. 😬

Or it could just be an aptronym

🙄 truth be told, I’d never heard of nominative determinism .. or aptronym .. until I read your post

avftt, the gift that keeps on giving 🙃👍

Recidivist3 - I hadn't heard of aptronym until I read your message.☺

Nominative determinism popular with Private Eye and Popbitch.

The optician in Layton used to be Stephen Peckman, or Speckman if you prefer.

Mark De Man was a Belgian defender.

Why am I angry? You know if people challenge a random statement of yours it doesn't make them angry?

You've not answered my question by the way.
All your responses to anyone’s questions are just shouty and angry. What’s up ? Nobody that comes from or live in Lytham are that angry. Ate you hiding something.

You're quite new aren't you?

Anyway, why is Shaun Bailey a thousand times better than Khan?
