Ship sat anchored off Blackpool?

Ship, sat anchored about a mile off south pier, looks similar to the one that brought the fibre optic cable ashore @ squire's Gate a few months ago?
Anyone know what it's doing there?

My names Michael Cane & I'm a nosey neighbour

The Gazette carried a story a few weeks ago about the two offshore platforms being dismantled. It also said this was the biggest ship in the world. The first of these is a possibility but the second seemed very unlikely.

Grampian Talisman
A Platform Rig/Supply vessel.
It usually does wind turbine and gas rig work off the Lancashire coast.
Anchors up off Blackpool in the evening on a safe anchorage in shallow waters.

It’s keeping an eye out for those pesky illegal European factory processing ships
Well I might have a new gig for you and your boat shortly. Keeping an eye on all the smuggling between GB and NI.

It’s very hush hush at the moment as there isn’t meant to be a border in the Irish Sea. But as Tonto can vouch this Brexit/out of the customs union malarkey is a definite kerching moment for those ITK. 👍

I’ve already had an offer of taking a Jock to see his girlfriend on the IOM because his jet ski was confiscated by the old bill for breaking lock down rules.
Said he’d pay me really well from all accounts. 😮🚤 💸💰

They will be dismantled by the biggest ship in the world. But that isn't the Grampian Talisman.
