Simon Sadler, BFC and January......

No-one clambering for the return of our current loaned out players?
Anyone want McDonald or Hardie etc back?

BFC is now after many years a properly run football club the owner and his management team will
know exactly what is required on and off the pitch to further their ambitions.

We MUST extend the Ballard loan deal, anything more than that would be a bonus. If i was in charge i would look to do the following:

Move on:
Thornily.
Woodburn (not shown enough to extend his loan)
Nuttall
Hardie

Loan Out:
Howe (extend it to a full season loan if only currently out till Jan).
Antwi (needs game time to develop)
Sarkic

bring in either Loan or permanent:
Forward (to compete with Madine)

To be honest our squad is pretty good for L1.

Woodburn might show more with a run of games.
Hardie is on a season loan I think.
Antwi has just gone on loan to Southport

I think we need to let one of the 2 back up keepers go...and bring in a more experienced back up keeper (someone whose got 2 or 3 hundred games under their belt)....Although Maxwell is not my favourite....i can see his confidence is growing with the arrival Ballard..the Viking and Dougall and apart from another striker/ target man....i think the squad is more or less complete with possible 2 or 3 fringe players leaving...and should be competitive enough to get us to the play offs.

I'd be happy if we get Ballard till the end of the season and bring in a back up striker to create a bit of competition. Nothing more for me. Like to have the squad settled by the summer.

L1 clubs get minimum £375k grant. Not sure why the word' minimum' is used as I assume it's evenly distributed. That's very roughly 1900 season tickets at £200 without the VAT. That's a lot for teams like Accy.

That's how I read it. Loans have to be repaid by 2024. Apparently Championship owners have a net worth of £30 billion.
If you take out Barnsley £7 billion, Stoke £6.9 billion and Sheffield Wednesday £5.2 billion then the other 21 are “only” worth £10 billion between them 🤔😂

Priorities for January have to be

-Extending Ballard to the Summer
-Offload any players not getting time like Thorniley, Howe, Nuttall
-Bring in another striker to back up Yates/Madine
-Another quality loan player from a Premier League side
I think you’re right with the first three.

I’ve mentioned it before but I just not sure any more loans is the right thing to do at the moment. We already have two that can’t get in the side, and Gabriel is a back up really.

With Williams and hopefully Virtue to come back in the near future I’m not sure where we’d want a loanee, possibly a striker but I already think we have too many as it is.

Our modus operandi now is young, permanent signings on multiple year contracts.

If Thorniley and Howe go out on loan then we may need another defender?
In theory Howe has 4 full backs ahead of him. I don’t think we need a replacement for him.

If Ballard is extended to summer that leaves us with 4 centre backs. Maybe just keep Thorneily then as a back up until summer.

I'm not sure NC trusts Thorniley. Think he may go out.

No I’m with you on that, that performance against Leeds kids did him no favours.

Is it worth bringing in a loan to be fourth choice centre back though, not sure.

Maybe not. We've got the superhuman defensive duo, Ollie and Hubby, to fill in right across the back four.

It's why December's results are so important and why a big squad (and a fully fit squad) is as good as a point before every game.If we can get to within 3 points of the Play Offs I'd be happy (as am sure Sadler would be).
