Sky TV question

I have an old style Sky box. They have offered me a new Sky Q box. I asked if the programmes I have recorded on my current box could be transferred to the new box. The guy from Sky doubted whether this was possible. Is that correct and is there any way of continuing to access the programmes recorded on the current box?

Can't be done I'm afraid, was always a pain when upgrading.

Even more reason to get rid and go streaming.

You lose your old programmes but you have a far larger range of catch up on Q so just make a note and re record

I had the same situation about a year ago and I lost all my recordings. The Sky guy told me this from the start, however there may be someone more technical on here who may know more.

Always been the case, I’m a history buff and have loads of great stuff saved, I’ll be gutted when I have to upgrade. You’d think they could come up with a way to transfer.

As wizard says above, the chances are, the programmes you want will be on catch up as there is a shed load on there, so maybe make a note and record on your new box.

Sadly I lost loads of classic BFC stuff - that was my main gripe - amazed Sky hasn’t yet got individual iclouds for recordings.
