Smallest away followings

Hull away early 80’s there might have been more than you could see, but most kept quiet, as Blackpool ended up on the side of the pitch and were followed around the ground.
I was at this game. 13 of us on the Supporters Club bus. One car load & a couple of Yarky Seasiders. Less than 20 all told and yes we kept quiet and on our toes all game. Some of us sort refuge behind the Pool dug-out & legged it to the couch as soon as the final whistle went. No idea what the score was.

Myself and my mate Lee attended Coventry Reserves v Blackpool Reserves one night in the 80's or early 90's. We both were wearing tangerine and after the match were in Lee's local country pub when Gordan Strachan (their then manager) along with a couple of other players/staff walked in and were querying our attendance calling us mad.
Used to know a window cleaner who went home and away to the reserves and first team. Even tried to get as many youth games as possible, away at aldershot for a youth team cup game was dedicated or mad

Derby away on a Tuesday night under Lee Clark when we were already relegated was a very sparse away following. Can’t have been more than 50.

Still can’t believe I paid £20+ to watch Charles Dunne absolutely shit his pants. Possibly the worst performance I’ve ever witnessed. A very depressing night and only went because it was relatively local to me.

Did anyone on here ever go to Dartford when Maidstone were in temporary accommodation, couldn't have been many of our fans in attendance and of course the same old ground on Watling street might well come up trumps in the worst grounds we have played in, yes even beating the Withdean.

Hartlepools away on a cold Friday night in 2004. Mike Sheron overhead kick stunner.

I don't think it really was one of the smallest away followings, I just want to show off about the fact I was there. Especially since I cannot claim to be one of the 10,000 behind the goal at Barnet...

Hmmm, weren't we on the side of the pitch at Barnet? I suppose you aren't claiming to have been there so it's understandable.

I seem to recall going to Dartford - was it a walk up a steepish hill from the station? Can’t remember thinking it was that bad a ground but we were in the era of the shale banks at Wigan Halifax....

I can't tell you only ever drove there and that was for another match not the Blackpool match, but the ground was pretty poor.

The worst I can remember at home was York. I don't know if it was an urban myth, but the story was they'd contacted us and asked if we'd agree to swapping the two fixtures round as we were going there in Autumn, and apparently they'd had "lots" of enquiries from their fans about wanting to see the Lights. So we agreed, they came to us first, brought 17.

The best story I've heard was from my friend in Manchester, who's Scottish work colleague supported East Fife. They were playing somewhere in the south of Scotland, can't recall where, and it was the closest they would come to him, so he decided to go. Got onto away end and he was the only one there, just him and a policeman. Come the big moment where the team runs out and claps the away following, instead they all came over and had a chat with him.
.
a shame the East fife players didn't invite him to sit in the dugout

Army mate was from Darlington ,,,we were based in Aldershot ,,,last game of season was Aldershot v Darlington ,,5 of us toddled along ,,,we were the only ones in Darlington end ,,,we were singing our heads off ,,,and having plenty of banter with Aldershot fans ,,,think score was 0-0 ,,,it was typical end of season game that was pretty well meaningless ,,,but we all had a good laugh,,,

Middlesbrough 1973 or 1974. I went round to mates houses early one Saturday morning and he said the bloke next door fancies going to Middlesbrough. Yes why not we said and jumped into his Vauxhall Cresta. A big mistake we wore our scarves and ended up in their end which was massive. To cut a long story short we got escorted to the paddock and some lunatics followed us..We left (ran) back to the car with 30 minutes to go. I’ve never been as scared despite being on the Leazes end and surrounded and having half bricks thrown or ending up in a load of Villa fans at the back of the Kop

Sorry meant Lever End at Bolton. Which is where it all started 😔

I did match programme report for the tuesday night away match at Northampton in about 1989 and as the match was so bad I physically counted those stood in the away end terracing and i think it was 89 (there may have been some in the seats but I couldn't see). re:Bristol Rovers at Twerton Park I think I went to all the matches there and don't remember any as few as 5 but if true I was one of them and you can guarantee Ozzie was another so we are missing 2 more ?
I was gonna mention the Tuesday night at Northampton because I was there aswell.... I would never have guessed there was as many as 89 there!
I do recall the impromptu 'conga' being marginally more interesting than the match (even made the local news!)
