So how much is Bowler worth?

The question for me is how much can BFC afford to lose by selling him now? OK may get 1-1.5m now, but potentially 4/5+m in the summer.

Take the money from Mitchells wages and give them to Bowler. Same with Howe's, Sarkic's... Get him tied down if it's possible.

Only if his agent will allow him to sign a new contract. He may not be worth anymore in the Summer if this does not happen.

It's a good point about the summer, but I don't think we'll lose by that, especially if JB progresses over the rest of the season.

As for his agent any new contract could have structure to benefit JB (and his agent aka greedy bastards). If the player is happy here then it could happen.

The problem is if he doesn’t agree a new contract summer would be the only transfer window we could get a half decent fee.
As no club would offer a big fee in January 23 if they could pick him up for free at the end of the season.
So the options seem to be
1. Offer him a longer contact
2. sell in summer
3. Keep him and let him go for free if he won’t extend his contract

I’ll go for £4,000,000 I wouldn’t sell him for anything less either. He drifts past players like there not even there. More often than not her has 2/3/4 opposing players around him. People that moan about his final ball…..he ain’t going to be at Blackpool if he was the finished article!!!! We don’t have any players like him in the squad and would be nuts to sell to anything other than a outrageous bid. He is very very exciting and I’d happily pay money just to watch him
Not many clubs have anybody like Bowler in their squad, there aren't many about like him, maybe something to do with modern coaching methods. A rare commodity usually costs more and he would be close to impossible to replace so it would have to be a few million to be worth us selling him.

Heard someone behind us saying about if Johnson is worth 18 million then Boweler must be worth a lot more than is being mentioned.

Which is exactly what we've said before.

So how much is he worth.

To me its 4-5m.

Hea a stand out championship player improving all the time.
There’s no way he’s worth 4 million really but this season he is to us

At one point against Millwall, they had four players surrounding him, such is the attention that other teams need to give him. We would be less of an attacking force without him, and let's be honest we don't score a shed load as it is.

Someone mentioned that we were holding out for £4m for him and I think that's reasonable tbh. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't sell him even for that because with him in the side, a bit of luck with injuries and a couple of astute additions and this squad really could do something imo. However, if we were to sell for £4m, think what Critchley and the scouting team could do with that considering what they've managed to do with a fraction of it.

I also think our hand is strengthened purely by the fact he hasn't expressed a desire to leave, or handed in a transfer request. How refreshing that good players want to play for us these days.

4 Million would get us 3 or 4 players and Critch gets scope to find a replacement.

Let’s be honest here, is this not the model the football club want ? Bring in good young players that NC can develop and sell them on at a profit. I will be gutted if he goes but that’s football.

Johnson is not worth 18 Million its what forest want for him good luck with that
Bowler 1.5 to 2 mill
Agree but everything is relative. The point is if someone were to pay daft money for Johnson i e 18 million, what would a similar daft value be for Bowler? I would have to say 5 Mill.

Brentford are rumoured to have already offered at least £12.5m for Johnson and Forest are holding out for more. On that basis Bowler must be worth £3m to £4m

Depends if he was offered a new contract and decided to leave to get first team football. He's under 23 so if he did reject a new deal they might be due a cut.
I don't think that's how it works. They'd get a cut at the point of signing for us. They can't enforce us to add a 10% signing fee if he's a free agent. Everton won't receive a penny.

Just had a look and found an article saying he was never offered a new deal so you are right, they won't get anything.

My dream (wish) is to log into AVFTT to read the news he has extended his contract with us. Is that a wish too far!

Why on earth do Forest keep chipping away ?

He aint going unless silly money Critch has said himself.

What's against us is a contract length of 18 months, assuming we apply the extension.

Sooner Forest get the message, sooner we can draw a line under it and move on.
Bowler in the master plan and hopefully part of a stronger push next season with us

He will be worth £6 million when he scores a thunderbastard winner on Saturday.
