As the title says - I always wonder how people are/were attracted to the mighty???

I am Sandgrown although moved away when I was 40 so it was easy (well not always) to support the pool.

At the age of five (in 1969) I met a Seasider at school wearing a tangerine and white scarf. Had no idea who played in tangerine at that time; asked my Dad and the rest is history. 51 years now following The Mighty.

Born and bred in Workington, with my family all Workington Reds fans.

The ‘reds’ lost their league status in 1977 and were replaced by Wimbledon FC.

as a family we always day tripped to Blackpool on a coach trip ( and the coach used to park on Rigby Road ) alongside the ground.
I think it was 79/80 season we went, and Wimbledon were the visitors that day, so my Dad and Uncle took me to the match, to initially see the team that replaced the Reds.

Sat in the grandstand in the a south stand that day, and Blackpool won 3- 0.
Remember the crowd behind the South goal going mental after each goal.
Came away from the ground that day with a scarf.

Future day trips always coincided with us going to a game ( Dad was happy taking me until I was old enough to go on my own )

Thanks Dad r.i.p.

Born and lived in Preston for 28 years before moving to West Berkshire in 2006. My folks are Blackpool fans so was brought up following the mighty. School wasn't always easy being surrounded by Preston fans but it made for good banter whenever we beat them.

I have lived in Blackpool, but not until 1961 when we moved from Prestatyn. I was born in Farnworth but brought up in North Wales and went to my first game to see Bolton vs Blackpool in April 1954 was attracted by the colour much to my Dad's disdain (Dad was Trotter). As he worked in a Holiday Camp our holidays were always out of season, so the Illuminations were just the job and a football match was always part of the deal. saw them play pre-season against Rhyl at Rhyl pre-1961. The rest, as they say, is history. I have now lived in West Yorkshire since 1982.

I was born in Wimbledon and moved to St Annes when I was 8. Dad took me to my first game in that infamous game against Chelsea in League 1 when we were 3-0 up at half time and lost 3-4!! We were both hooked after that and season ticket holders the following year and were until 1976 when we moved to Hertfordshire I moved back again to Blackpool in 1981 and lived there till 1986, during that time I went to every game, home and away but moved back to hertfordshire in 1986 because of work,
