So Scrafton was wrong then?

Matt Scrafton fully expected a few weeks ago an interview, explanation and thanks from Neil Critchley - doubt any of us are surprised the weasel has yet to give even a squeak.
Sometimes journos get too close to the story and can’t see the bigger picture which is he didn’t give a rat’s ass about the club or the fans and it was always his convenient stepping stone.
He was a user and the hero worship which he received now makes me feel sick.

Totally agree, look at Rooney, resigns and makes a really good statement thanking everyone and wishing them well for the future.

We were pretty much all fooled, the guy has handled his move in a classless way. In fairness I had little interest in anything he had to say and even less now.

The guy is totally in the dark on everything to do with the club, but he's got to write something, I kinda just feel sorry for him.

Nixon has just started to make stuff up, all for £1.99 per month now 🤣.

I think they're all living off scraps with us really even Sean McG, but he obviously has some kind of inside track as didn't he know Apples had gone for a final interview.

Earlier in the summary before he quit my son passed across to Critchely a couple of programmes for him to sign (through a friend of a friend) together with a letter he wrote him thanking him for last season - and he hasn’t returned those either! 😡😡

............and if Critchley did do an interview he would get slagged off by quite a few on here and they would question why he bothered.
Probably all those who are calling him for not doing it are those who are glad he’s gone anyway, so I just don’t get it.
The guy got us into the Championship and is looking to further his career so good luck to him but please give it a rest.
I certainly hope Appleton has a good start otherwise this board will be in meltdown.

Maybe he should have put his address on. 😂

It was quite laughable when Scrafton said Critchley was struggling with phone signal while on holiday but he was still able to inform the club his plans to leave and sort terms with Villa pretty quickly.

Every day that goes by, Critchley looks worse.

Maybe he loved the supporters so much he is too embarrassed to say anything now. Time is a healer and I expect at some point in the future nice words will be said in our direction about him still loving the club and wanting us to do well.

There is no loyalty in football correct.
It doesn’t mean he couldn’t have made the move in a much better manner.
Coming out with a statement straight away something along the lines of life changing job, too good to turn down but thanks the supporters and the club who gave him such a huge opportunity wouldn’t have gone a miss. Now he can just get fucked.

I think the problem Critchley has is he doesn't want to risk saying anything that might undermine Gerrard at Villa, so if he comes out and says it's an opportunity that he couldn't possibly turn down, the next question is "what exactly does Gerrard do then?".

I've no problem with Critchley going, after all it's a better job and pay.
He did a good job here and left the club in a better place than when he joined.
However, I do find it strange that he hasn't bothered to make a statement about his departure.
unfortunately he hasn't done so.
Maybe too embarrassed?

He did get in touch with Simon Sadler though, so why not just a few word to the fans. it’s not like we were on his back, in fact quite the opposite. And he was always singing our praises when he was here.

The issue has been done to death. SS and NC have spoken. They agree his departure could have been handled more graciously which to me is a very diplomatic way of stating that NC should have behaved differently.

Its done now. NC has gone. We have MA . After MA we will have someone else and someone else etc.

The club is a constant the fans are a constant the staff are not unless you are extremely lucky.

Managers are hired guns. Sometimes you get ones that stay even when they get more lucrative offers and they become club legends. Most dont.

👏👏👏

What about a bust up with Sadler re transfer budget then looks around for another job hey presto Villa come calling. There's more to this than meets the eye but we need to move along now.

What a first team player told me sums up Critchbitch - the players found out about his move via social medi!
Also some unnamed players weren't sad to see him go - we must read into that as you will.
Q: What sort of a leader would leave like that?
A: A poor leader and a Judas
I have definately moved on by the way, and think MA will be a far better leader, who will treat the players fairly & equally 🧡 🍊 🧡

He got us to the Championship. He got paid. He owes the club nothing . We owe him nothing.

He will be remembered as a promotion winning manager thats it. He did a decent job and should be remembered for that.

If anyone is upset because he didn't say thanks or goodbye then so be it but im not.

I thought he should have thanked the fans but im about as bothered that he didnt as i am when i open the door for someone and they dont acknowledge it.

Fans shouldnt get caught up with all this patting the badge /biting etc.

He did his job got well paid. Took another job.

I heard from a bloke in the pub who knows the tea lady that Yates found out Crotchley has a secret Preston tattoo hidden under his hairline and that’s why the two of them fell out.
