Some utter shite on display tonight

That was absolutely pathetic tonight, in the end had some great opportunities and chances but wow, some of this lot couldn't hit barn door with a machine gun. Some showed absolutely no killer instinct.

Lavery put some good energy in to the performance but that ball across just had to be finished 2nd half.

Some of the other chances, CJ and was it Lavery, both left the ball rather than shoot. Some other faffing and hesitation meant others were blocked.

Got into some decent areas but completely wasted everything, poor balls in and woeful finishing.

CJ was really poor, heavy touches, when he went to cross and it hit his other foot and went out for a goal kick.

It's no wonder we can't score many, summed up by the pathetic penalties, missed 3 out of 5, ok Lavery scored his retaken one.

But that only meant it felt like we lost twice.

Ffs we keep saying we want a cup run but then can't put a ball in the net against Barrow, who we had pegged back completely there for the taking.

Near the end some completely unintelligent and useless play, people hoofing the ball out in the last minutes needlessly, Lubala giving silly fouls. CJ and husband taking time to take a throw when we have a few minutes left, no urgency.

Another revenue stream lost when we keep saying how much it would help us with the extra cash.

Not good enough from a lot of those who played. Tye passing in the middle was alright but after that....The final 3rd quality at times is absolutely atrocious.

Really annoyed with that tonight.

The concern tonight was the fact our forwards in a 433 can’t score. Both Lavery and CJ were very poor tbh and need to be moved on! But who the hell do we get in that don’t cost a fortune especially in wages?

Sounded shit on the radio. I'm going to have to keep a low profile at work tomorrow as I fear a bit of piss taking coming my way, from a Knobber, who I work with 😬 Or I might get in first & say we were shit, that'll disarm him a bit. Or I could wear a disguise I suppose. Let's hope Saturday is the polar opposite.

I’m meeting a Knobber and a Dingle tomorrow for a few beers but expecting dogs abuse!🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Stating the obvious it wasn’t good.

Patino, i actually thought he was ok. He will quickly realise he hasn’t got the luxury of time on the ball that he is perhaps used to. have to say some of our lot ain’t on the same wave length as him.

Thorniley hardly put a foot wrong imo.
Good to see Husband and Gabriel back in the fold.

i’m not going to list the negatives as they have all but been covered in other posts - does a 4-3-3 suit us with the players we have at our disposal?

The board have to back Appleton they are the ones who employed him and gave him a four year deal.

"utter shite" also to the 8 other championship clubs who lost to lower league opponents today

Swansea lost to Oxford
Luton lost to Newport
Cardiff lost to Portsmouth
Wigan lost to Fleetwood
Reading lost to Stevenage
Milwall lost to Cambridge
Stoke lost to Morcombe
Hull lost to Bradford

Was still shite, dominated and played alright up to the final 3rd, then so wasteful and poor from those who played.

It's no surprise a lot of moves broke down or weren't able to be finished, Lavery doesn't look like he has any confidence to score, CJ's touch is awful etc.

Others were wasteful too.

We should have won that game by a good few goals but we can't score for shit.

It's the final third that is the problem, it was last season aswell.
Hamilton, Lavery, Madine can all definitely go.
I'd go with Bowler, Yates and Lubala on Saturday, but the fact is we need at least two better players for the front three and that won't be cheap!

Only one thing missing, a goal. We need a striker and fast. I see Bishop scored again.

I would imagine at least 6 of those won't start on Saturday, including all the front 3.

Defensively we had absolutely nothing to do, but the final third was laughable.

I bet we regret turning down Millwall's bid for Lavery. They won't be back with another after that display.

As for CJ...

Having slept on it I can honestly say that should be it for CJ in tangerine...we need a big clearout and he is one of the first who should go out...he looked like he expected to be hooked every time a sub came on and the fact he wasnt makes Appleton look clueless.

It’s the only time he looks like knows where to run to when he gets brought off.

Looks to me like Barrow were happy to play for penalties from kick-off, with no ET and no replays, that's going to be pretty effective against most sides.

I'm not going to lose too much sleep over a competition that ranks below some pre-season friendlies these days.

I genuinely think he left CJ and Lavery on so when they come to his office complaining they're not getting game time, he can turn round and show them the video.
