Rob Burrow, ex rugby league player suffering from motor neurone disease.

I wouldn't have either him or Rashford as contenders for the main award.

I believe Rashford is to receive a special award and I'd imagine that they will have a feature on Rob Burrow and the great efforts of Kevin Sinfield in raising funds for Rob and raising awareness of the horrible disease.

I'd have given Burrow/Sinfield a special award.

Agree that Kev Sinfield should get a special award for his fundraising and Rob Burrow should be given anything he wants for the way he's handled MND. Marcus Rashford obviously deserves his award.
 
Lost all credibility for me when Colin Montgomerie got coach of the year for organising the rotas for the Ryder cup. In the same year Holloway got favourites for relegation into the premier league!!
Which one involved coaching and which one was the bigger achievement!!?
 
Just switched it over for a minute after reading this. Is Alex Scott on everything I watch?

Anyway. I even voted online. Nobody deserved it more than big Tyson. Hope he wins it and tells them to do one.

Thought the same myself about Alex Scott! MoTD, The One Show, Football Focus, SPOTY and possibly a Question of Sport!

For me this is a dated institution that should have been shelved years ago.
On that basis I’ve been sat in the back room listening to radio 4.
Tyson Fury should have won it anyway.
To come back from beating his demons and being a white word champion,it should have been nailed on his award.

I think it's rather sad to see a program that I used to consider to be the best of the whole year to be reduced to what it has been.

I am not offended by it, rather than turn over or read a book I'd rather see it return to its previous glory.

I cant say I'm a Radio 4 man myself but I'll certainly be joining you next year.

Every year I say I'll never watch SPOTY again but end up doing so.

For being a world champion perhaps but what's being white got to do with it?
 
It’s a public vote. A black racing driver wins. He deserved to win and the competition was never going to get near him. So it was either his talent that won the popular vote and this country’s so called institutional racism problem is overstated, or the bbc altered the result as they are institutionally leftist. I doubt it’s the latter.
