Blackpool council forging ahead with this bollocks
We also need to cater to locals who pay the council tax and keep the council in their jobs, the existing course and surrounds cater to locals. We are a tourist town and need to attract tourists the existing golf course does not do that.
If they go ahead with this shocking plan, they will more than likely lose most if not all of their seats at the next local election. It will be their ‘Derby Baths’...We also need to cater to locals who pay the council tax and keep the council in their jobs, the existing course and surrounds cater to locals.
This council couldn't give a fuck about the people who actually live here, they can't even be arsed lighting the prom walk in winter.
Hope so, but the next council will probably be just as bad, we have a shocking record of incompetence regardless of the colour of the rosette. If they go ahead with this shocking plan, they will more than likely lose most if not all of their seats at the next local election. You seriously think residents are going to vote the Tories into running Blackpool not a chance they did it for the GE to get rid of Marsden and his anti Brexit stance but won't for a golf club which the majority of the town don't use and couldn't give two hoots about. If they go ahead with this shocking plan, they will more than likely lose most if not all of their seats at the next local election. Most gyms and sports centres in the area are run by YMCA so they shouldn't get credit for thatI'm actually struggling to come up with anything bar the minimum responsibilities that this council actually does for local people?
Stanley Park - Run by a local trust
Salisbury Woods - Run by a local trust
Marton Mere - Under the council, but funded by the Lottery Heritage Fund
Stanley Park Golf Club - Sold off for little money
Gyms/Sports Centres - Actually decent, so that's one thing!
Are they? I don't think they are? Most gyms and sports centres in the area are run by YMCA so they shouldn't get credit for that
I wonder how many local residents actually use that course? We also need to cater to locals who pay the council tax and keep the council in their jobs, the existing course and surrounds cater to locals.

Thus council is unbelievably bad and should be thrown out at the earliest opportunity. Incidentally I am not a Tory but I would not vote for this present crew...You seriously think residents are going to vote the Tories into running Blackpool not a chance they did it for the GE to get rid of Marsden and his anti Brexit stance but won't for a golf club which the majority of the town don't use and couldn't give two hoots about.
The biggest waste of money ever was under the Tories. I give you the Karneval with Bottrop. And it was a Tory council that closed Derby Baths.I don't want to get political but will do.
I know I've said it plenty times before but the current council and Blackburn spend all their time telling us what they can't do because of his cutbacks rather than making sure that they make the best use of the resources available to them.
I am not suggesting that it's an easy task but surely they should be doing whatever they can and collaborating appropriately to regenerate the town and get the all the obvious benefits rather than publicise poverty by talking only of managing decline.
To be fair, as Lytham alludes to, previous Conservative councils have also failed the town and what's happening at Stanley Park has happened elsewhere in the town under them.

They're not in Blackpool, the three Blackpool Council run gyms (Moor Park, Stanley Park and Palatine) are all decent, although Moor Park gets rammed.Fleetwood, Thornton, St Anne's are all YMCA run
Not really the point. They're keeping a nine hole golf course so what's all the bleating about,go round twice if you want to play 18 holes.
