Starting to get embarrassing

The reactionaries on this board are unreal.

We make a last minute bid for 500k for a very good striker, have the bid accepted and terms agreed, he comes in for a medical and then we decide against the move. Dramatic? yes. Embarrassing? No.

The club are doing their due diligence, what if they saw something in the medical that was concerning? If that were the case then not signing him is the correct thing to do.

Striker is a position we have a good amount of depth in, strengthening there isn't a priority, but if quality is there we should go for it, if it's not then no need.
We may have a good amount of strikers, but unfortunately none of them can be described as prolific!

I reckon if push comes to shove we should tap up some of the bigger North West clubs for loanees.

I'm sure the likes of Man Utd, PNE and Liverpool will have some youth players who would do a job for us.

One perspective is both of our loan signings so far are of a pedigree that we would struggle to sign outright. Remains to be seen how they perform, of course, but that PNE defender who went to Liverpool wasn't trusted once by Klopp and he was a standout defender in the championship. They both improve the talent level of our squad imo.

I'm not too bothered about the accy lad. I'd be hesitant about pinning our season on too many " had a decent season in league one" types.

So, not embarrassing for me , though I'm sure they'd have hoped to have a few more over the line.

In a results based business, their performance in the transfer market can’t be described as a success so far. Let’s hope they get business done soon, or their boss might start asking questions.

I don't know which school you went to and if you were taught English language, but in my day prolific, in respect of a striker, meant high scoring!
Thanks for that.

I meant in terms of the amount of goals a striker needs to be prolific, apologies for not being specific enough.

Lyons off now by all accounts.

Further and further down the list we go.

Absolutely astonished that we have failed to sign a player permanently with a week to go. We are desperately short in the full back department...

Add another one to the list.

Something isn't right!

I bet Appleton isn't happy.

Maybe meeting Appleton is the problem? The board have agreed fees/deals with other clubs and several players now have had terms arranged, got themselves here but got back in the car and left while the engine was still warm. Something is badly wrong somewhere for these deals to keep breaking down on the day they arrive! What is it?
