Couple of memories of Steve.

A friend of mine's girlfriend at the time fancied him, especially when taking goalkicks. It takes all sorts I suppose.

One time we were on MOTD and Tony Gubba couldn't pronounce his name right. Came out something like McGillagy.

I remember us not having a keeper until a couple of days before the season started then we signed this Scottish keeper from Walsall.
He suffered a nasty training ground injury I seem to recall. 50 stitches in his face or something. Must have collided with Gary Briggs!

It was Ian Gore he collided with if my memory serves. Apparently collided at walking pace too!

Hmm ok. It was a deal with the company who provided his GK gloves apparently. They supplied them with the gloves. They were to cover up an injury on his knee which had some sort of support on it. He says he only wore them for two years, but seemed longer to me.

It was the Spurs game in the FA Cup that Gubba did the McGillagy name thing

He wore them all through the 90/91 and 91/92 season. I dont remember him playing for us after that to be fair

Graham Alexander having his pen saved for Scunny…….and on the back of that miss went to the ‘straight run n toe bung’ technique that served him so well for the rest of his career, think I’m right in saying he only missed one more
