Stevenage Watch

Am not really seeing the 'decent players? Two freebies from Plymouth, a midfielder from Wolves who has spent his career on loan and a winger from Fleetwood.

They are also trying to get Michael Cheek but at 33 that's a big risk based on our experience with Rhodes who's legs had run their race

NoticedthatDembele scored 2 and was involved in ,2:more in that match . Be interesting to see how his season goes if he remains fit .
Hopefully Blox or Impay can give us a little of that sort of edge of the seat adrenalin

Totally agree, no fun in being a plastic supporter for one of the so called big clubs, there no drama other then seeing the same old shit atleast with proper supported clubs it’s edge of your seat stuff lol
It certainly is with this club. We’ve accumulated more playoff trophies than any other club I think.

They are. No better club to support when on the up. Always has been
Weird thing is I think we've all lost that 'on the up' feeling since Critch departed the first time.
The last 3 seasons have been a struggle as fans I feel and there is a real chance to hit the ground running.
Think I'll be a bit nervous for Stevenage.

I bet the older scousers have loved last 5 years because of the crap 20 before it.
Always have been successfull even before winning 2 premier league titles.

Always remember the comeback against Milan in the champions league final one the best games I ever watched even if scousers are self entitled nobs haha

That's the crux of it. We've had it so low that when a high comes along we rip it's bleedin' head off.

Looking forward to Stevenage as well. Players yet to arrive and I anticipate a cracking atmosphere and a win.

I think they'll be better opposition than Crawley last season which might not be a bad thing because no one expected how bad we would be there and think everyone went in to it with 'away win' written all over it before the whistle had blown!

Sounds decent ...

Stevenage Football Club has agreed terms with midfielder Mathaeus Roberts.
The 20-year-old arrives at The Lamex Stadium on a permanent deal following a successful trial period with the First Team during pre-season, scoring five goals in four friendly appearances.

A product of the Arsenal and Ipswich Town academies, the attacking midfielder joins Alex Revell’s squad after scoring against Swansea City and Barnet, as well as scoring a hat-trick against Bishop’s Stortford during Boro’s preparations for the 2025/26 League One campaign.

Subject to EFL and FA approval.

I am looking forward to this game ,but I think expectations are too high .
1 .Some people think it will be a good atmosphere ,but with not too many from Stevenage , we will have to score early to sustain a good atmosphere.
2 I think some are just expecting a win , but without wingers we could find the goal mouth action to be limited.
3 I think Stevenage would love a draw for their first game being away and I can see us struggling to break them down.
4 I think expectations being so high , I am just wondering if nerves will get to the players.
All in all I hope we win ,but my glass is half empty so I am expecting an anti climax . I hope I am wrong.

First game of the season is always so unpredictable. Wouldn’t surprise if we ended up losing 1-0 or something, particularly with quite a lot of people having us down as dark horses, play off contenders etc 😂

Yep. Be a tough game, especially if Bloxham is out and we don’t bring in at least one winger

With Apter, Carey gone and if Bloxham is out injured, there's not going to be much happening up front and I think it will be a comfortable afternoon for Stevenage unless we get wingers in. I thought Stevenage were the best defensive team at Bloomfield Road last season.
