It's a bit wild down here ; some services on South Eastern are heavily disrupted because of a trampoline on the line.....

Sainsbury's is going to be interesting.

So far so good here in High Wycombe , it’s very windy obviously but the only problem we’ve had so far is the bench in our front garden has blown over - just deciding what to do with our cocker spaniel as he’s desperate to get out 🤔

Blimey it’s been wild for a good amount of time in leafy Cheshire. Fencing shored up and still standing but two posts were blowing left and right like TAM on a footy sojourn to Seville.

Was mental about an hour ago when it lashed it down and was like a hurricane looking out in south shore, couldn't see the other side of the road.

Absolutely carnage out there today, trees down by Stanley park and flooding everywhere

Our next door neighbour's fence has been down since the last time it was really windy, and what with it being a Housing Association property and him being a lazy bastard, it has never been repaired properly.

I was surprised today therefore to see that the fence was more or less upright, despite the weather. On closer examination, he had propped it up with a heavy wooden post. Anyway, while I was washing up the wind blew the temporary fix down, so he now has a heavy post AND a fence to sort out. Dopey sod.

My pal just sent me some photos of this on Whatsapp , glad the lady is safe but why would even consider trying to get through there ????

Quieter up here today, we had 85mph winds on the hill yesterday. Looks like strengthening later. All Hebrides ferries off, saw some monster sea videos yesterday

Lovely sunshine now in Layton and the rainwater has run down Westcliffe Drive to South Shore, which should be useful as they need a good wash down there.

Might nip down to Layton bargains later, which has a touch more kudos than waiting for mainstream supermarket chains to deliver at home.#carbonfootprint

Man City v West Ham off. Given that the rail companies were warning the travelling public yesterday NOT to travel today unless absolutely necessary, don't you think someone might have thought about having this afternoon's two games moved in advance? They knew the full extent of the problem days ago, so to wait until six hours before kick-off when it would take WHU fans at least that long to get there is poor.

It leaves a giant hole in Sky's schedule now. Perhaps a documentary about how wonderful Liverpool are can fill the gap.

It’s a good job this storm didn’t arrive 24 hours earlier. The game would have been postponed and Tuesday game will be in doubt with the high winds forecast. That would possibly have been nearly 3 months without a home league league game!

Train back to Rotherham a no go. All trains from Blackpool North cancelled due to flooding at Poulton

Layton Bargains is shut on a Sunday any excuse to nip in to the Layton for a pint.🍺

A bit wild and woolly here in West Yorkshire. River Aire through Shipley in danger of bursting its banks, Bradford Beck has already spilt over onto the roads and into Mc Donalds Car Park. The lazy sods that have left their bins out have now covered the area in all sorts of detritus and the council have not cleared the roads of leaves this year, so all the drains are blocked, leaving us with a brown stream where the road should be. My daughter has had 3 inches of rain in her cellar, sounds like the flashings around the chimneys to me. But I will hopefully venture out later for a few pints and a curry.

Meant to carry on until Tuesday which is mental. It's been very windy prior to this also in past days and will come back again next weekend apparently.

It's getting to be very windy a lot in winter now. Global warming and or one off factors contributing?

A bit wet in the East Midlands, debating whether to attach weights to the dog to prevent me having to retrieve him. From the roof.

Portaloo blocks road in Bedforshire.

I'm sure there is a joke in there somewhere.

I must say I am amazed at the number of people who have ignored advice to stay at home today. A triumph of hope over common sense?

Just started to pour down again after a period of blue sky. But, it will not stop me going out for a couple of pints and a curry. I LIVE IN THE NORTH.

Did you get your trampoline back Robbie? 🤪

Lowther gardens pitch and putt is now underwater along with the bowling green and half the paths.
Nearly lost the dog down the front the winds are that strong....and now the Internet is cutting out just as I was starting to watch Homeland....

That's no way to talk about your beer belly Wilf. 😊

Does anyone know what the situation is likely to be tomorrow regarding travel?
I'm supposed to be travelling via train to Birmingham first thing in the morning, and I've no idea whether to even bother.

This is my daughters friend and her mum in the car. She was just driving down rugby rd and her car stalled then the tide came over the defence and filled the rd in seconds. She’s devastated

Central drive and rigby rd and revoe park under water as is Queen Victoria rd. houses on there been evacuated and a rest centre opened nearby for the residents of the houses on Queen Victoria Road

My trip back has been pretty bad, 5hrs to London and over 2hrs to Newbury. Thankfully almost home safe, so I'm not complaining. Well worth the trip back though after a good win and a great weekend.

Love this ....

Storm Ciara jet stream allows plane to arrive in London from New York 2 hours early. A British Airways flight has likely broken the fastest-ever subsonic New Yorkto London crossing time after reaching speeds of more than 800mph

As for the other way any setting off now might make it there by Wednesday and be completely battered from turbulence... 😉

All trains to Scotland cancelled on Sunday so stuck here until lines reopened on Monday hopefully.

Must say Avanti were absolutely less than useless when it came to customer service.

Interesting Miko. When I was on my way up yesterday morning the guard made a couple of announcements to tell us that there would almost certainly be widespread disruption today, speed restrictions doubling normal journey times and advised us not to travel unless we absolutely had to. I don't remember Virgin ever doing anything like that.

Well at least the insurers will pay out under those circs otherwise it would have been even worse.

I travelled to Bolton today, the storm was terrible at 6:30 this morning, a massive puddle just after leaving Singleton. can't believe all the floods reported.

I arrived from up north on friday and they informed us to check if we were travelling anywhere on Sunday.

To be fair, in the 15 years I've spent doing the footie trips, I've never seen conditions as bad.

Flooding again here in Carlisle....3rd time in 15 years.
Destined to be out of our family home again for best part of 2020. 😔
Sorry to hear that. Where I live the gutters and manholes in the roads were spouting like fountains. Climate change is real and these events are getting regular 😞
