Sub 10k crowd on Opening Day?

Interesting one - 30th July home game will catch a lot out for holidays, work etc and I can't imagine Reading are the greatest travellers. Good one to get out of the way early doors?

It'll be a lovely ☀️ day on the gold coast & the Reading fans will be looking forward to a long weekend.
I'm sure our supporters will turn out in force to support our new coaching team in their first game, and to give miserable Paul Ince some grief (not so much Tom, as he was good for us, until his dad ruined him) 🧡

Early season game attendances are usually poor, with many people on holiday. Reading might bring one or two more than usual, but still not too many. 10k might not be far off the mark.

First home game of the season, pretty much the best chance Reading will ever have to bring decent numbers to Bloomfield Road. I’d be expecting around 13000 tbh.
Yea no way this will be less than 10k.

We don't know season ticket amounts yet, but I'd hope at least the same, hopefully more.

First game of the season, first game for Appleton.

Reading a chance to bring loads to Blackpool in summer, First game, on a high from staying up and having the main man in charge and his son signed up 😅

Less then 10k?

Would be completely crap and tinpot imo.

Can't see it being near that unless ST completely fall flat.

not sub 10k for me. Reading 1-1.5k id say between 11500 - 12k dependent on uptake of season tickets.

No…….it won’t be but i don’t expect it to be more than 11000…but you never know…I’ll be there unless something makes it not possible😳

Eldest's wedding the day before in Chester and we're there for 3 nights.

Will probably watch on TV.
Come on you can drive there and back…..I do Stockport to Bloomers every home game😉😉…after all if the wedding is on the Friday what on Earth is there to do next day🤔

My mum bought us all tickets to take the kids to Joseph and the technicolour thingie before we realised the season kicked off so early 🤦‍♂️

Indeed it is.

But yet we seem to have a small element of people on here obsessed with gates usually other football clubs gates as well.

I'd say there was a large element. It's utterly bizarre. Cannot imagine posting worrying about whether we get 10,000 or not. Who cares? Seriously?

It may be a lower attendance than you would expect for the first game of the season. But if we make some good signings the gate should rise along with season tickets. Lets see in a week or so.
Reading won't bring loads, they don't have great away support.

Booked my hols last year before I realised the season started early and was praying for an away game! My brother will probably have my ticket and so won't be an empty seat.

We've sold nearly 7,000 season tickets, plus corporate for the full season is sold out, apart from two boxes being held back for sale on a match to match basis.
🧡 UTMP 🧡
