Suggestions for Pre-Match Music

A bit of me died on Tuesday when I heard 'swords of a thousand men' playing AGAIN at Bloomfield Road. It's an OK song but sounds dated and hardly inspiring a new audience. Clearly our record collection at BR doesn't go past 1981 and so am just wondering if we can help by suggesting some tunes for the matchday experience and then have a vote?

Irrelevant what is played unless the tannoy system is improved….how difficult can that be?

Mark Bell of Shaboom a huge Blackpool fan his uncle was Jock Dodds and his dad is one of the 4 % shareholders at the club who is the original Oyston out man, he used to go to the AGMs to kick off at Owen. Mark/shaboom has a huge back catalogue of records, now lives in LA running Shaboom records but would be apt to pick one of his.

If you are old enough to have heard it the first time around you might feel that way but, I still like it.
There will be a few generations that have barely or never heard it before and they if did an edit it would be a decent goal celebration song too.

I actually referred Wunderbar as a song!

SALLEEEEEEEY SALLEEEEEEY PRIDE OF OUR ALLEEEEEY ! - Gracie Fields. Play it first off to blast any cobwebs off the loudspeakers then BLACKPOOL! BLACKPOOL! - The Nolans.

It's a shame Gracie's "pass shoot goal" is Oldham themed.

Also, sweet Caroline is the ambiance of a walkabout bar in 2006 at about 11.20pm. It's a no from me.

Need to start playing songs that are going to get the crowds reacting.

I'm Into Something Good - Herman's Hermits
Neil Diamond - Sweet Caroline

O.K. I'll have my two penneth. How about the Gladiator's theme beginning with the word 'Fratres' (no, I said Fratres)? More stirring stuff than some of the suggestions above IMHO...I'll get my cloak and helmet.
