Elijah Dixon-Bonner. Creative centre midfielder being released from Liverpool. Not had any league experience yet, but believe Critchley interested...
Only 21, worrying that they're letting him go at this stage.

Worrying how?Only 21, worrying that they're letting him go at this stage.
Nah. Keep it in here. That way you have to wade through all the cráp to find the few hidden nuggets. You should have your own thread tbh.
Normally, if they think they're good enough to play league football, they'll hang onto them until they're 23, sending them out on loan means they don't have to pay their wages anyway.Worrying how?
99 percent of players who big clubs take on never get near the team. Most go at 15/16. Few more at 18/19. He’s good enough to survive a couple of big culls so how is it ‘worrying’l
This is cobblers. Sorry.Normally, if they think they're good enough to play league football, they'll hang onto them until they're 23, sending them out on loan means they don't have to pay their wages anyway.
It really doesn't cost them too much to do this, so the fact they're not doing this suggests either they think he's not good enough, or there are massive off-field issues.
This is cobblers. Sorry.
Bowler let go by Everton just after his 22nd birthday. He crap too?Let's wait and see.
He's probably a good Baal player too (apologies)Elijah must be decent, he's got a double barrelled surname.
De Rigeur for England selection
I’d be surprised if we landed Brannigan now think our chance was last January and it just didn’t happen.Any update on CamBran?? Are we still interested?
The link to Pompey has no substance and according to Alan Nixon the Sheff United and QPR interest was just Brannagans agent trying to spark an auctionI’d be surprised if we landed Brannigan now think our chance was last January and it just didn’t happen.
Others clubs now linked with him including Sheff Utd, and Nobbers, as well as Portsmouth and that’s just who we know are in for him so I’am sure they will be a few more given the season he’s just had.
Callum O'Dowda. There's the Irish winger, name escapes, that's been released by BC that could make a good replacement for you know who.
Just seen he's been out injured, only played 16 times, so does that make him ideal for us? tic.Callum O'Dowda.
Have you seen Liverpool’s midfield???? He has no chance reallyOnly 21, worrying that they're letting him go at this stage.
which is why I've always said rather than big academies the value is in taking slightly older players released, not because they aren't good enough, but because they are surplus. For example a RB in the U21s might be released not because he's the worst player out of the squad, but they have 2/3 players who can play there and his squad space will be filled by someone they need, say a striker.Have you seen Liverpool’s midfield???? He has no chance really

Good point except u/21s can bolster your squad without being included in the squad count. (Assuming this rule applies equally to the PL as it does to the EFL)which is why I've always said rather than big academies the value is in taking slightly older players released, not because they aren't good enough, but because they are surplus. Obviously for this to be successful it needs really good relationships with the PL acads to the extent that we'd receive the heads up. If only we knew someone who knew the system inside out.
I was thinking more like having a set (optimum) number in your academy that you can reasonably work with and sticking with that.Good point except u/21s can bolster your squad without being included in the squad count. (Assuming this rule applies equally to the PL as it does to the EFL)
I'm not going to Blackpool!
You get to play with Gary Madine...
Oh, well that changes things, where do I sig

Silly me I had totally forgotten about the goal machine's magnetis personality!I'm not going to Blackpool!

Oxford have just lost one midfielder, Sykes, to Bristol City, so that makes it so much harder for us to get Brannagan!I’d be surprised if we landed Brannigan now think our chance was last January and it just didn’t happen.

3 times???Silly me I had totally forgotten about the goal machine's magnetis personality!
No it doesn’t, just meet the release clause in his contract, then it’s up to him !Oxford have just lost one midfielder, Sykes, to Bristol City, so that makes it so much harder for us to get Brannagan!
Messi: I don't think Blackpool is really my sort of club.Silly me I had totally forgotten about the goal machine's magnetis personality!
He's never going to NorthamptonThis is cobblers. Sorry.
Could just be his agent trying to create a false auction? Do Nobbers really have the funds to spend £1M+ on a position they are probably well covered in?Nobbers looking at Brannagan too
I think Brannagan was tried and failed, with SSs layout on training ground and stadium improvements £1 million plus deals are off the table. We will be trawling the bargain basement again.
Brannagan will be NCs top target. So if Bowler is going, we need it to happen at the start of the window.
Surely not how much have we supposedly paid up front? Can’t imagine we’d have been throwing that much at somebody with zero league experience. The deal for Oliver Casey apparently could cost in excess of a million over time……
I think there were more expensive signings than Yates that summer.I think that's a bit extreme to say the least. There will be 1 or 2 'marquee' signings each summer I would expect, Yates in L1, Gabriel last summer. They were prepared to go to 1m in the January window and I'm sure all the training ground plans were in place then as well!
He is out of contract but the player (not the club) has an additional 12 month option. He has agreed not to take up his option with a mutual agreement that he can leave on a free transfer. He undoubtedly has a club lined up and we will be one of the likely suspects due to Critch. There's still the potential for a fee, possibly £1m+ if he's any good, even a club of Liverpool's size aren't going to just toss that away.
Also, Milner's 36, Henderson and Thiago are both 31, so a couple of years from now who knows where the club will be?

They’re notNobbers looking at Brannagan too
@CalderwoodCritchleyWon’t can you shed any light on CamBran deal?Brannagan will be NCs top target. So if Bowler is going, we need it to happen at the start of the window.
Did any either of those cost £1 million + no. Sadler said the other day there won’t be big money spent on players, however we will see.I think that's a bit extreme to say the least. The upfront fee was about £100k, the rest is all add-ons, if we get promoted to the PL, and he plays 250 games for us then it could be £1m.
Presumably a big sell on clause as well.
Bowler played a load of games for Hull before Everton released him so it's a different scenario to the lad at Liverpool who hasn't been out on loan.Bowler let go by Everton just after his 22nd birthday. He crap too?
Said with such authority. How did you become aware of these commercially sensitive details?
The rest I made up,
Can't see us meeting his release clause now he only has one year left on his contract. We will want to negotiate lower, like in the last window, when we missed out.No it doesn’t, just meet the release clause in his contract, then it’s up to him !
