Summer Transfer Rumours trois - Will Appy (re)sign anyone?

Why pay over the odds for an untested young player who’s not on the English leagues.

You’d have thought we wanted to be perennial play off bottlers following that tact
Assembling a squad for league one next year ?

Doesn’t sound like someone who could slot into a championship team and improve it

Is it true the moneys dried up ?

I take a keen interest in all the local clubs , league and non league

Think my posts are pretty respectful

Looking forward to the new season and another mid table mediocre finish 😆
Your embarrassing comment doesn’t really make much sense though. Why would a club go to another club and make an offer that would immediately get accepted, that doesn’t happen at the top end of the game, never mind between us and Shamrock.

I do think it’s weird how much of an ‘interest’ you keep on Blackpool, maybe there’s more to it than meets the eye.

I couldn’t imagine anything worse than trawling through a nobbers board reading all the drivel they no doubt post.

Like I said, weird.

So all players are only as good as what the club paid for them? I’m happy for us to be looking to sign young, hungry players whose value will hopefully shoot up after a season or two.

I like to see who your all being linked with/ signing etc

See what the competition are up to

Tbf we are doing the same with Robbo , pissing wba about over a fee , while someone else will probably nip in and grab him

Does say he watched him in the academy, he may have gone to watch PNE at some point fair enough, but I can assure you his dad is one of these Liverpool fans from Preston/Blackpool insert town other than Liverpool and Rhys grew up supporting Liverpool saw him often when he was growing up in a Liverpool shirt walking about, like I say started out at Liverpool's academy at about 10. Pro players rarely end up supporting a team as we do, because they're in academy football on weekends and don't really ever get the chance to support their local team.
Having known rhys since he was born I can categorically state that his family are pne fanatics
, his dad and uncle have been season ticket holders as long as I've known them (25+yrs) and young rhys went with his dad all over the country watching them

But that doesn’t fit with the narrative above !

Yeah but someone posted he isn’t on here so must be fact 🤣

200k bids now exciting times

Put a proper bid in it’s embarrassing 😳
Why aren’t Paedo North End putting in a proper bid for all the ageing freebies Lowe IQ wants?

It’s what happens after decades of boredom and ‘going on’ to an atmosphere less, soulless stadium

I can also tell you that when rhys was born his grandparents gifted the family a new pram/buggy and it had orange flashes on it
Needless to say it went straight back to the shop
Thats the level of preston fanatics We are talking about

Doubt we’re getting Robinson on a free

The others are holding out for higher wages elsewhere (fair enough)

Potentially playing 9 games before the. Window ends is frustrating but it’s the same for everyone

We’ve knocked 7mill off the wage bill this summer

Big clear out and no longer paying two ex managers

There’s some cash , not sure how much Woodman cost

Robinson could be a loan to permanent, think that’s still being negotiated/ holding the deal up

Does anyone really want to see this drivel on here?

Who honestly cares what the nobbers are up to?

Nobbers coming on here as often as they do, tells us exactly how boring it must be supporting that lot.

Sinclair apart I can’t see any of the players you’ve let go being on that kind of money.

Well you made a loss of £15m in your last reported accounts so that will help in bringing the losses down under £10m.

No pot to piss in at Deepdale.

How are things on that front at Deepdale?

Not exactly splashing the cash around so far, that keeper isn't likely to have cost much and the rest are frees.
They’re apparently paying £2m+ for Robinson. Believe it when I see it.

Woodman won’t have been cheap I don’t think but can’t see a figure anywhere.

Lyons getting closer according to SMcG:

"A three year contract with the option of a further 12 months is on the table for Lyons, who can also fill in at left back, and personal terms are in the final stages of completion.

"A first bid believed to be around £100k was rejected by Rovers, who are understood to be holding out for a larger fee then most other departures from the League of Ireland this summer. The second bid is believed to be in the region of £200k with an expectation that this will be enough to secure his services with informal offers placed in the interim to attain an acceptable valuation for the player.

"The full back is a highly rated prospect in his native country and an U21 international. Five goals and six assists in 20 League of Ireland appearances in 2022 speaks volumes of his ability from wing back, having picked up the league's player of the month award in April.

Liking the sound of this one. Hope it goes ahead now. Should be fit at least if he has been involved with European football already this season.

Per Alan Nixon (so… for what that’s worth)

Blackpool are making a late and decisive move for Accrington Stanley striker Colby Bishop.
The Seasiders are matching the offer of around £500,000 from Portsmouth for Bishop who was also wanted by MK Dons in recent weeks.
And the chance to play in the Championship for late developer Bishop could be too good to refuse as the chase comes to a head.
Accy will play fair by Bishop who saw a move to Peterborough denied a year ago. He did not cause a fuss and will be allowed out now.
Blackpool have been looking for more firepower within their budget and Bishop fits the bill.

That’s an interesting move not a bad player either

Let the bashing commence. 👍

I wonder if this signals that Appleton sees Bishop/Madine as the main forward (in a front 3), with Yates/Lavery playing from the left (similar to Scully's role at Lincoln). Would explain why we saw Lavery played there against Rangers.

I think that could be a decent signing if it happens, it's now or never for him, probably does fit the bill for us, think that means someone out of the strikers and/or Keshi will leave, can't see there being room for them all here.

No longer believe a word Nixon says but IF this is true it’s a good signing I think. I’d still like more defensive backs at the club and another cm as a definite. Greedily I’d also like Rogers and maybe scully to give us more options 😁

I can see some players being shipped out very quickly to make space if we are to get these new signings in!

You'd have to think maybe Appy doesn't fancy some of our strikers. Will be interesting to see who gets shipped out as we have the numbers.

Mixed feelings on Bishop. Good player, but Appleton only tends to play one central striker.

We already have Madine, Yates, Beesley, Lavery, Bange and Holmes.

Bange is nowhere near Championship standard, Beesley is injured and both Lavery and Yates are not exactly tearing up the Championship. Madine is not getting any younger and don't know where Holmes fits into the scheme of things. Colby Bishop impressed when playing against us for Accrington and it's possible App sees some potential in him.
