What a stinking pile of dogshit this new Manager has inherited after a summer of signing players on big money on name and CV & not via a simple eye test.

Ian Evatt is a BFC legend, his Assistant is also one and Dobbie isn’t far off it for what they did in their time here. They must be watching this set of players these last few weeks thinking WTAF is going on here?! Faking being a footballer from a few if not more.

I feel sorry for Sadler because he’s pumped his money in the summer and his footballing IQ is at the same level as CJ (strong zero) so he just trusts footballing people, who’ve flopped on their arse AGAIN.

We’re going to have to take a hit in January to fuck off some of the utter dross we have in this squad. It’s very very hard to become a professional footballer so I’ll never say someone is shite, but what I will say is there’s so many soft, not arsed, back out of challenges, pretend to be closing down, pure bluffers in this current squad. Fuck them off. If it costs us to do it, we’re going to have to do it & then when we do it we’re going to need to find out who and why we’ve wasted it and never do it again.

We’ve done a Man United in League 1, wasted thousands on shite who don’t care and will let you down no matter what system, formation or when you’re in the deep stuff.

You could go and watch NL football over the next month and see better and hungrier players than we have right now, not data, not stats, not how many promotions he’s had, with your fooking eyes, cos they won’t lie.

I believe Ian Evatt will sort it but what we don’t need is grown men moaning that he needs our support and not criticism and being obsessed about 3 at the back when we were even worse with a flat back 4, we’ve scored far better goals so far in this system and with better braver players to come back we will improve. If i had a £1 for hearing him shout “CJ!!” & look away in disgust last night I’d probably be able to pay Ihiekwe’s weekly wage. He’s clocking it all, he’s just up against the wall at the moment with the shite he’s got.

This isn’t his mess. This is on the Club before him. They now need to sort it (again) for him or we are in for a proper scrap. With the money we’ve spunked this is actually obscene.
 
I said a while ago we've been completely had over with signings. We may have been one of the big spenders in the division, but the money has been wasted on too many players that have the heart the size of a peanut, and who think they're better than this league whilst being happy to pick up a big wage on a long contract.
I feel sorry for Evatt - this shower of shite are no reflection on him or his management, you cannot polish a turd.
January needs some of these out and some League One scrappers in, as we are definitely in a relegation fight now. The primary goal this season is to stay in this division, and hopefully back Evatt over the summer.

Who's going to take these players off our hands? Who better than what we have wants to join a side in the relegation zone? I agree that some will likely go, but don't expect the January window to be some sort of cure for all ills.

As every area of the squad is deficient - even with Ennis and Taylor back we need a target man to bully defences - it is the person responsible for sourcing these players that should be given a picture of a spitfire, and sent on his way.

This season is a write off; staying up is the name of the game, heck, let's go mad and hope for mid-table respectability/mediocrity.
 
It's tough to pass judgement over an EFL trophy game because I'm sure if clubs were given the chance to make their money up by just watching an advert or doing a survey instead of having to prick about with it then they would do. But it looked like Evo said to them last night go out and forget what it is, just show me something that shows what I've been working with you on and that you're better than the team who are currently 91 out of 92. And they gave him that first half and first 15 minutes. So his mind should be made up now on the way forward.

I've some sympathy with the players because this club doesn't have a coherent football plan for anyone to follow and so it probably is easy to just take the money and close your mind off to it. Flipping from Basic 4-4-2 Steve Bruce to Coaching Manual 3-5-2 Evatt just to get a compo-free body in to take the team with no thinking beyond that and whether it's a good fit. But this slide does need to be arrested no later than January and the next transfer window churn.

Just look at the next opponent for a bit of wakey wakey time. From L1 to non league in a couple of seasons. Saddled with Elliot Embleton wages. Complacency is a club killer.

I'd say thats pretty spot on. SS has no football knowledge and ir relying on people with no L1 knowledge, lazy too. They are not suited at this level.

Nothing will change unless the advisers go. NOTHING.

I' defend the players a bit here. Football in my mind is all about partnerships and you look round and there aren't any The 2 CB's should work together- they don't. 3 CB's should see the wide 2 cover the 2 WB's. Neither Lyons (SAt) nor Imray have been covered and made to look stupid by letting the winger free when the CB should be the cover. How can a LCB not be left footed as a wide of 3?

The mid CB should be linking with the midfield carrying the ball out- he doesn't. The mid 2 are a dogs dinner of a partnership. The ACM non existent. The strikers strangers to the mids and each other.

That's all down to bringing players in who are good but with no idea how to work together. The catalysts are lacking. We need 3 and then you'll see avery decent team.

Going to be hard shipping players out in January, but they will have to try.

You have to feel for Saddler, but he keeps hurting himself. Self harm needs treating.

The stubbornness to persist with the same formation as my Bolton mate keeps telling me is his downfall.
Two up top with not one of them and out and out striker, wingers in midfield slow centre halfs.

Hopefully if we can Morgan, Ennis, Taylor,Bowler and Imray back in the squad things can improve but Evo has to sort it out quick or we're going down.

No good taking a hit if the club structure and recruitment isn't right. It will just be the same again.
Taking Brighton as an example at obviously a higher level. The club structure is right with the recruitment so unless they bring in a real dud as a manager it works. We are exactly the opposite and nothing works.
The recruitment team need to go because it's failed.
 
You've got to feel sorry for SS, he has pumped money in on the back of what he believes is sound advice from people he has appointed and he's been badly let down, ,most of the signings are absolute garbage.

The clear out that's been mentioned by the fans should start with that lot, SS deserves better.

Said from the start we recruited individuals with no reference to building a team no better example than bringing 2 RCBs when obviously we needed a leftie etc, etc, etc.

Can our best players play Evatt's system, though. It's a slow build up play. Other League 1 teams must laugh at our poncey play.

I'll ask him with only 22 outfield players in our squad and five of them being wingers why we don't use a formation to suit them until Evo has had a couple of transfer windows.

Yeah and in the meantime what Evatt is trying to do is give them that confidence to play with some freedom, because we know some aren't the best but actually, are they capable of controlling a ball and passing it 10 yards 99% of the time, they are actually. Given the start etc many have been playing with low confidence and in a fearful safe way too.

If he can get them, like the 2nd half, to play with more freedom, less fear of losing it and be brave and positive in the passing efforts and create chances, that's all he can ask for, will we take enough, who knows, more likey if we're doing that type of play regularly when our more creative and attacking players return that we will.

Remember when many people said they'd rather be entertained and lose... well creating a lot of chances and losing is kind of what happened after a terrible start, if we're going for it then that's what people wanted and what he's trying to get them to do.

I actually think even at the moment weve got enough that we can still win some games and we've got people coming back in the next week's that increase the chances of us taking more of those chances.

Why Evatt was using that 2nd half as the positive is... well, he doesnt have much choice for 1 and also it's actually right, they know that feeling now of just going for it and playing more carefree, he can then say remember that feeling and we can try and replicate that again, because that's what I want. So hes trying to get them to believe in it.

As said some are not what we expected and will be going if possible, but I actually do believe they're capable of more than they've shown still, like vs Reading, we reverted into a safe fearful team. Had we done what Evatt wants maybe we still lose but didn’t give up and kept going, creating more and got a couple of goals back.

I guess we'll see against Carlisle whether they have realised what is required more now and if Evatt has manged to get them to understand.

So you've got a Bolton fan whispering in your ear, who cares.

The difference is we were shite early season even with a full squad in 442, even 433 wasnt great, we barely had any shots on target at times and were dominated in many games.

We're learning a new way and trying to play in a more positive attacking way after 5 league games with a confidence drained squad and many missing.

Despite a dip in the last 2 games we're still better than early season overall and trying to play in a way that creates more chances, presses high, and is in games far more.

Last night we had our number 2 keeper who doesnt inspire and a makeshift midfield, given it was the EFL cup and we rested actual midfielders.
 
That’s the problem with signing players who are already very wealthy and have already achieved more at “bigger clubs”, they will see us as a step down, an easy way to carry on picking up good money. Not always the case, but you do have to wonder with some of these new players.

Most of our successful players of recent years came from league two , or had been released from the PL/Champ and had something to prove, plus they were hungry to build a career and guarantee themselves life changing money.

Bruce was in the same category as a manager as are David “Wednesday” Downes and “Swansea” Jules, do any of them really care about Blackpool FC beyond it being another job to them.

I really think that last night he should have thrown Theo Upton into the team selection mixer.
He's a young Blackpool lad that lives and breathes BFC and you know if he kisses the badge he means it.
He also passes the ball forward and frequently to a guy wearing the same colour shirt.
Edit to add.
I suspect that come January and once the 18s are out of the FA Youth Cup our most promising u18s are likely to get some youth loans.

Ahhh right so you don’t have a team you’d pick instead but you just think this isn’t the right one. Got ya.

The formation with this lot is irrelevant, but the best we played was Cardiff at home with this formation, we just had Bowler to create and ball carry. Since he’s been out we’ve struggled… that’s where you need Hansson etc to step up.

This isn’t on Evatt. If he goes to a 4 or whatever, you’ll see the same, like we did with Bruce (was actually worse) and Dobbie for 2 games.

We need to fuck off 4 or 5 and if means us subsidising it, so be it.

I remember your Bolton mate now, it’s the goon who left at half-time in a play-off final isn’t it. He seems like a level headed football fan if ever I heard one.

I'm sure if the Reading game hadn't unfolded as it did then that is what the game last night would have been used for. At least some of the young lads would have been given the second 45 if the seniors had righted their wrongs in the first half instead of causing even more shite.

Last year at Harrogate in the shit cup was about showing Ashley Fletcher his football future if he didn't snap out of it when he got subbed off and then dropped for Terry Bondo. This year was an episode of Bad Lads Army.
 
Who on earth is going to take Horsfall and Ihiekwe? Both over 30 and earning ~£10K a week on a long contract. We're stuck with them unless Bruce finds another club!

Evans is possibly the easiest to move on, given his deal ends in June.

The likes of CJ, Lyons, Ravizzoli and Coulson are probably a little easier to move on. I doubt they are on megabucks and I'm sure there are some clubs that would want them.

Do we end loans for Hansson, BPF and Banks? Don't get me wrong, I think BPF has improved and Banks is a decent winger but could we use their wages in a better way?

Casey, Husband, Imray, Morgan, Brown, Honeyman, Ennis, Taylor and Fletcher are pretty much the only senior pros I'd want to keep. Bloxham deserves a chance in his preferred position, what we do know, is that he'll never be a no.9.

excellent post of which i can only add the time to judge Evo is (a) when we’ve got our players back from injury but more importantly (b) when he’s had an opportunity or two to ship some of these powder puff players out and bring in his own.

I think something to note is this is a different Evatt in some ways to him in the past, he may have been a bit possession mad in the past, keeping recycling it waiting for the opening, not as much anymore.

He's not just trying to make us dominate the ball but when the opportunity is there we have to be positive and play a forward ambitious pass, that's what he wants.

It was the players who went safe on Saturday and just kept it rather than put it in the spaces that were there and trusting their ability and trying to work an opening.

We’re going to have to take a hit in January to fuck off some of the utter dross we have in this squad. It’s very very hard to become a professional footballer so I’ll never say someone is shite, but what I will say is there’s so many soft, not arsed, back out of challenges, pretend to be closing down, pure bluffers in this current squad. Fuck them off. If it costs us to do it, we’re going to have to do it & then when we do it we’re going to need to find out who and why we’ve wasted it and never do it again.

We’ve done a Man United in League 1, wasted thousands on shite who don’t care and will let you down no matter what system, formation or when you’re in the deep stuff.

You could go and watch NL football over the next month and see better and hungrier players than we have right now, not data, not stats, not how many promotions he’s had, with your fooking eyes, cos they won’t lie.

I believe Ian Evatt will sort it but what we don’t need is grown men moaning that he needs our support and not criticism and being obsessed about 3 at the back when we were even worse with a flat back 4, we’ve scored far better goals so far in this system and with better braver players to come back we will improve. If i had a £1 for hearing him shout “CJ!!” & look away in disgust last night I’d probably be able to pay Ihiekwe’s weekly wage. He’s clocking it all, he’s just up against the wall at the moment with the shite he’s got.

This isn’t his mess. This is on the Club before him. They now need to sort it (again) for him or we are in for a proper scrap. With the money we’ve spunked this is actually obscene.

It was obvious to most fans during the summer that we failed to sign a competent GK, a left-sided CB, an imposing midfield general/CM, and a big target man CF. Question is, who made the decisions that they did?

Agree maybe 2 or 3 youth players will get regular game time, they cannot possibly put in worse performances than that first 20 mins.
Loan out some to clubs below Harrogate and bite the bullet
 
I agree re the wasted money, however I also think last night was on Evatt, what the frig was that first half midfield set up? We didn't have one. Evans ( who's awful apart from the odd set piece delivery) basically on his own in there with Hansson, Banks, CJ ,Bloxhham all mooching about not knowing what they were doing.

If he didn't want to risk Brown which is understandable, then play Upton, an actual central midfield player.

Second half when Brown came in on, and Banks moved wide we actually looked vaguely like we knew what we were supposed to be doing. That first half was down to Evatts weird idea of playing wingers as central midfielders

I think we all know this is not down to formation. We were even worse under Bruce and his awful brand of football.
The players aren't good enough end of. It's really nothing more than that.
Evatts style of football is good it will just take time but I'm confident he will sort it. We need injuries back, few additions and loads out the door. Whoever sanctioned all these players needs booting.

Football in my mind is all about partnerships and you look round and there aren't any The 2 CB's should work together- they don't. 3 CB's should see the wide 2 cover the 2 WB's. Neither Lyons (SAt) nor Imray have been covered and made to look stupid by letting the winger free when the CB should be the cover. How can a LCB not be left footed as a wide of 3?

The mid CB should be linking with the midfield carrying the ball out- he doesn't. The mid 2 are a dogs dinner of a partnership. The ACM non existent. The strikers strangers to the mids and each other.

That's all down to bringing players in who are good but with no idea how to work together. The catalysts are lacking. We need 3 and then you'll see avery decent team.

Going to be hard shipping players out in January, but they will have to try.

You have to feel for Saddler, but he keeps hurting himself. Self harm needs treating.

Exactly. Last season a nice partnership developed between Fletcher and Apter but there's nothing there now.

The gig is up for a few of those players, are we getting to the point where a relegation and starting a squad again is a good thing? Because half arsing every season with the same group of losers plus losers other clubs have kindly given us isn't going to work.

You can't have 4 or 5 "luxury" players start a game where they are either good or absolutely abysmal. Hannson, Banks, CJ, Fletcher and Bloxham. You need consistent performers and none of them have put a decent string of performances together with the exception of maybe Fletcher. Even then he's a luxury, touch, confidence player. The other four were absolute garbage last night.

Lots (yes lots) liked Evo and his style of play but (hey ho), if just ONE friend tells you he’s shite then that’s all that matters.
