Taking a knee v pointing to respect badge

I like evidence.
What evidence, either way, is there of the effect that 'the knee ' has?
I get the impression that it polarises the argument, rather than bringing people together.
I understand the need to stand by your abused colleagues, but whether it will contribute to lasting change seems unlikely.
Those posters who raise the issue of the world cup have a point, if you'll bend the knee for one issue but deliberately support a competition in an obviously terrible state, you might look at your real motivation.
Seems it does nothing, I read earlier there has been another racist attack in London. But my guess is this is not about combating racism in general, just about the players hurt feelings.

Who said anybody was offended?
we are supposed to be moving forward not going back to the 70s and 80s, scenes like last night will be repeated time and again but hey you crack in with your offended drivel
I'd guess that those booing their own team are offended by the gesture.

I used to make a visible stand against sex crimes on children. The crimes have continued so I decided my protests weren’t making any difference and I stopped.

I imagine that as all of our players are paragon's of virtue - which is a great thing - our British teams will fully boycott the World Cup in Qatar due to it's appalling human rights record?

Spot on MAC.

It's amazing how many seem to pick and choose exactly when they are appalled and/or offended by something ?

It's almost as if there outrage is fake.

Straighters

I know that you will probably be on some form of fishing expedition but I do find it strange that this knee thing seems to have been the longest protest/campaign in football history.

I guess effective campaigns can't be too long but strange that the longest campaign has been in respect of racism and associated issues, something that football has made outstanding progress in.

Certainly in this country, race issues in football are nothing like as bad as they used to be, saying that we can always do better but maybe an idea to look at the big picture and also consider the progress made.

If it's a football forum how come so many on here never or rarely post about football?
I don't know. I am not privy to to the posting activity of every member of the site. Neither would I want to be. I can only assume yours was a rhetorical question.

A question that has been asked many times I suppose, but if they are so concerned about human rights why are they playing in qualifying games to play in a competition taking place in a country with so many human rights problems and why are the fans supporting it? No doubt they will announce the end of it with some feeble excuse before the competition begins.
Eagle. I suspect, in all honesty, that it's more a matter of standing up for their team-mates, at both international and club level. Sadly, and I'd like to be wrong about this, many of them won't be aware of human rights issues in Dubai. It's just somewhere hot, posh and modern to have a winter break, cop for birds and play golf.

Sod the football then? 😂🤣

The same people urging the FA to boycott Qatar are often the ones defending the UK selling weapons to Saudi Arabia so they can bomb school children.

I've not seen anybody on here agreeing to sell arms to Saudi Arabia so they can bomb children, Cat. Yet another one-sentence accusation is it?

Exactly. Another highly offensive post and a lie from a poster who has no evidence whatsoever that the sale of arms to the Saudis is so that they can bomb children. Yet the mods allow it when they point out in their own post about the tedious agenda of posters. If this posters isn't agenda isn't repetitive and tedious then I don't know what is?
