I dont know but go on enlighten me and it doesn’t offend me i just find it pointless and have never observed or acknowledged it , if anything it is a unifying point for many who want nothing to do with it and won’t pander to this minority ritual and those who would try and force it down the majorities throats

Taken at face value, they're asking for a black dominated apartheid state organized along Marxist lines where the blacks get all the good stuff and the rest of us (including Asians, mixed race etc) get to live in a tin hut and pick cotton.

Of course that was a couple of years ago, and the official aims are now a bit more palatable, but it's still the same people behind it.

The aims are still the same, they have just moderated the language to make it more acceptable to the gullible.
 
Personally I agree the the sentiment but hate the action. Totally against racism but if I was a player I would not ‘have taken the knee’. Even saying it makes me cringe. I’m not kneeling for anybody. When others were kneeling I think I would have held a red card to show racism the red card or something to show my support

I agree with the principles of the campaign but the gesture is pointless and has lost all meaning. For that reason I think it should go.

On the 'defunding the police' thing, if you read what the BLM theorists (USA) were proposing, rather than the agenda-driven media reporting, they were advocating transferring some state funds from the police departments (not disbanding the police!) and using those funds o implement social improvement schemes - in other words it's a more effective use of public money to tackle the deprivation that leads to crime in the first place. Sound reasoning, it seems to me.

I think you've mapped your own views onto that statement to be honest hun.

Basically all that says to me is they want equality for all and to stop needless brutality vs. black people.
 
Given that this very quickly went from footballers not taking the knee in the Premier League to pretty incoherent personal attacks from people unwilling to listen or understand alternate views on either side… I’d suggest the mods maybe shift it over to the politics page. Most definitely not a football discussion.

I just think if people want to do it then why stop them? Maybe the ref doesn't need to allocate time before kick off for them to do it anymore no. But if I was a footballer who believed in it and wanted to do it still then I would just do it anyway.

Who has the right to tell anyone what they can and can't do as long as its not hurting or affecting anybody else?

Correct if they want to do it, do it, it’s a supposedly free country. I just think they shouldn’t be pressured into doing it just because they have been told it’s the right thing to do.
