Worst still one of our local pubs has built a temporary( presumably😳) outdoor food and drinks bar( no alcohol).Can’t believe the number of people queuing and using it every time I drive by.
Anyone would think you can’t make a cuppa or a coffee at home and probably save themselves a fortune and all out of a disposable piece of plastic or paper which probably ends up littering the streets.
We have the same with the Italian restaurant next door bleach, they are queuing up 30 deep for a very expensive coffee and something with pasta in it. Maybe its just the thought of getting out of the house that is the big turn on. Mind its keeps the restaurant going and it's staff employed so no bad thing really.

...at least it isn’t next door to me😉

I'm a bit like this.

I've drank more coffee per day then ever before. It gives me something too but I don't know what. I think I've drank more because I gave up alcohol in the new year. Not forever but I wanted to see how long I can go without it. Quite easy with the pubs shut

It's funny you should say that because I haven't had a drink since about October/November.

I didn't mean to stop but I've just never been one for drinking at home.

Cheltenham this week so I might fall of the wagon and I'm not sure whether any of this has got anything to do with my increased coffee drinking.

I’ve never tried it , but I would !
You should drink this or jasmine tea with Dim Sum......and there are plenty of supermarkets who now sell the latter....along with your local Chinese Supermarket or Costco( assuming you have one of these😉😉)

... but no milk or sugar for goodness sake😳

I'm in danger of this. Cheltenham is usually a few days I'd go to the local and watch it. I'm off this week so we will see what happens😂

I used to be a coffee addict and I do miss it I must say, but throat cancer 4 years ago has since put an end to hot drinks and spicy food.😌

Tea for me. Black tea, green tea, red tea, white tea, mint tea, camomile, St. John’s Wort, chai etc.
I don’t much like coffee. I feel the bean roasting process creates so many complex aromatic chemicals that at least the odd one or two could be cancer causing.
Edit: Apologies to Simonized, I did not see your post.

I will drink espresso and maybe other coffees every now and then. But tea first and foremost.

Breakfast, Kenya, Earl Grey, Darjeeling and so on.
Also some herbal tea, I have various ones.

And real tea can only be made in a teapot.

Instant coffee isn't the same drink as coffee, it's something else that should be called something different;

I have a couple of these things;

and with some decent coffee and a milk frother make something that I think is better than you can buy in a coffee shop for just a few pennies. One pot is enough per day though unless you want to be up all night.
As for the coffee, I prefer Kimbo if possible, but it's not that easy to get hold of. Generally tend to try whatever is on offer, Aldi and Lidl have some generic brands that taste OK for about £2

Other hot drinks;
An easy healthy drink; raw ginger, slice of lemon and some honey in hot water is very good
Tea, I like earl grey if possible

Tea first thing, coffee mid morning, afternoon and evening. Green tea and jasmine with spicy food, and a cup of miso soup a couple of times a week, tasty.

I quite like Tea , Coffee , green tea , green tea with fruit infusions , hot chocolate, ovaltine, Horlick. In fact there’s not much I don’t like where hot drinks are concerned
Never got on with green tea. First time I ordered it was at Cranston's Tea Rooms on Argyle Street, Glasgow: Gunpowder green tea. I couldn't finish it.

Was only thinking the same yesterday.
Seemed every other person had a bloody costa coffee cup in there hand. Joining lycra wearing cyclists & mongy joggers carrying several water bottles as my pet hates.
Tea for me (milky coffee around 11am if I'm at home).
So, you'd be quite happy to cycle 100 miles without any fluid intake, eh? Smart lad.

Love both but coffee these days for me, couldn't manage without really good coffee.

El Burro - If you like the stove tops, which I do, then I highly recommend this if you want a step up from the standard mokka pot;

Bialetti Brikka

My main pot now. Fantastic piece of kit with a superb filter that you can watch through the open top. A thing of beauty and the quality of coffee is another step up again.

I also buy my coffee from that place linked - Rinaldo's. Based at the farm shop place just off the Crook Road roundabout near Kendal (they do deliver), they have some excellent variets and a great house blend. And they grind properly to different fine-ness of grain depending on what you tell them how you are brewing the coffee. Highly recommend them.

Switched to coffee a while back when @southshorepool asked if I wanted to see his little percolator.

Didn't realise it would make my eyes water so much (smiley)

Looks great, but we have induction hobs, so I guess it wouldn’t work

Always drank tea growing up by the bucketful but then 20 years ago I went on the Atkins diet and cut milk out. Trouble was I couldn’t stand tea without milk but could drink black coffee. So until last year when lockdown started I was a coffee drinker, for some reason started on tea again and especially Yorkshire Gold, so now I’ve flip flopped back tea all the time with the odd coffee for variety.

Anyway, tea has a great song written about it, has coffee?

Some folks put much reliance
On politics and science
There's only one hero for me
His praise we should be roaring
The man who thought of pouring
The first boiling water onto tea
I like a nice cup of tea in the morning
For to start the day you see
And at half past eleven
Well my idea of heaven
Is a nice cup of tea
I like a nice cup of tea with me dinner
And a nice cup of tea with me tea
And when it's time for bed
There's a lot to be said
For a nice cup of tea

*Edit to say - Gawd yes, Black Coffee In Bed by Squeeze, one of their finest, how could I forget, I’ll have to give it a listen now!
