Teach your children well

To be fair, this racism will have been taught by the parents. Even the mercenary teachers that are willing to put aside morals to teach in the Independent sector would not go that far!

When children start school they don't have a discriminatory bone in their body. Then we insist in pumping information into them about racism and prejudice until they firmly believe there is a difference between people of different colour.

How about everybody shut up and let kids grow up without the same old bullshit that we have been fed all our lives. Anybody that shows clear racist intent (not some of the shite I read on here) then lock them up for 10 years. It'll control the adult population u til it is bred out over a generation.

Unfortunately, like most other illegal activity, there are people that make a fortune out of racism and the consequences of it, so there has never really been a desire to eradicate it.

For the record there are over 200 or between 15 to 20% of the kids at senior school level at MGS who are on bursaries which are funded by donations and school income in order to give kids from families who otherwise couldn’t afford the fees but who are bright so as to give them chance to show their talent. Some on here clearly don’t like that concept but I do.
One thing for certain is MGS doesn’t discriminate by race or religion and it certainly won’t tolerate the behaviour if the monkey chants turn out to have occurred.
Our relatives two boys, their Mum is Japanese and father Malaysian, both attended MGS ( supported financially as it happens by their Japanese Great Auntie) and the younger ones has only just left this calendar year ( to go to a University to study Medicine) will testify that the school works hard to simply educate ,in every sense of the word,to the best level it can for all its’ students.

Some children do start school with discriminatory bones, unfortunately passed down from their parents at a very very early age. And in some cases the parents influence continues, even when schools try to turn this around.

I’m thankful I had parents who genuinely didn’t have any racist bones in their body, and likewise myself and my children. But also hope that if they did ( my parents ) I would have the common sense and decency to form my own opinions and break the shackles of those early influences.

.... and yet, two years ago, they were obliged to issue this statement following concerns raised by current and former pupils

‘A group of current and former pupils have contacted us to request that we look closely at our Year 7-9 curriculum, with a view to placing a sharper focus on the inherent racial divisions in our society. We think that we can do more than this, and that we should look more broadly at the problem, but also look beyond our own walls.

What we hope to do, therefore, is to develop curriculum materials to be used across all year groups, from Junior School to Sixth Form, which can broaden the scope of existing teaching in a wide range of subjects, in addition to developing new lines of academic study for pupils. We will make any work we develop available to all schools and to individual students, and it will all be free to access.

A number of teachers have already begun the process of developing such materials for our own pupils to access remotely. This will be our starting point, but we hope to be bold in our plans and go much further. We have always felt that the best way we can contribute to social justice is through the education we provide, and if this can be disseminated more widely, we believe that this will be more effective in making change than almost anything else we can do.’

Better late than never I guess.

My parents were Irish who both came here in the 50,s.
They were horrified at the No Blacks, No Irish and no dogs signs up when they tried to find accommodation.
If it wasn't for my dad in his army uniform they would have struggled.

Independent school bursaries do not go to the poor. They are almost exclusively farmed off to parents earning above average incomes.
For example, a teacher at our school sent their children to an private school and obtained a bursary. I know for a fact the income of the parents was greater than £75,000 per annum. At St Paul's in Westminster bursaries are available to parents earning up to £190,000. The schools also receive £millions from government to subsidize this con. Children of parents on benefits are not represented in any significant proportion. It has become a corrupt system to maintain the elite. Everyone should read Posh Boys by Robert Verkaik-a great book which exposes this scam for what it is.

I’d think most have better things to do than read posh boys😂

So your solution is to ignore it and hope it goes away? OK.

... and I thought teachers pay was poor...

I suggest you talk to my relatives two kids who actually attended MGS before making your comments there.
They both attended a Church Of England Primary/ Junior backed by Manchester City Council which is actually very close to MGS who often lend facilities to them.

Before Labour decided they want to do away with the 11plus and Grammar Schools many of the now so called Independent Schools would take in a significant number of students whose education was paid for by the local council.Yes MGS has an entrance exam system to determine the children’s educational ability but they are considered bright enough then the bursary system is designed to provide the finance to help them attend.

You clearly don’t like such a scenario but you are so blinded by your politics it hardly comes as a surprise to me and no doubt many others.

....and is often pointed out on here you rarely post anything that is other than politically motivated and as for BFC I do wonder whether you actually have any real interest.

That’s a really valid and interesting perspective from Morgan.
Sometimes the initiatives we have are ridiculously patronising when you hear a response like this.
But again, the O/P is about the behaviour of MGS pupils, any more thoughts from anyone on that?

Most OP’s go a little broader than just the OP when discussing, I’m sure you’ve observed that yourself.

Ive already posted what I feel about racism.

I have little knowledge, infact no knowledge of MGS at all until this post but it goes without saying that if monkey chants have been put out there by its pupils then it’s an absolute disgrace.

I thought you’d have picked up that vibe from my initial response.

For all the defending of MGS on here , it is horrifying to see that some of their pupils behave like this.
I think you are missing my point. As mentioned earlier by me I fully expect MGS to investigate this and take whatever action is necessary.
Unlike some on here I actually do have some knowledge of how MGS operates and how pupils are expected to behave from our family connection and because of this I believe my above comments regarding how they will react is justified.

Agreed, it should be everyone's history meaning how it is taught as a whole needs overhauling, as to me this is tokenism and reinforces 'us' and 'them'.

How is that ignoring it? The problem with anal people like you Wizaard is that you think you know best in every subject. What you fail to realise, or accept, is that you have played a part in the countries problems thus far in your life. Either your ideology, or your lack of fighting against racism 30/40 years ago has lead us to this point. You x 20 million middle aged adults have to accept blame I'm afraid.
