Team for QPR?

For arguments sake, say Keogh, Garbutt and Anderson are all out:

Grimshaw
Gabriel
Ekpiteta
Connolly
Husband
Dougall
Wintle
Bowler
Dale
Yates
Madine
Back to 442 Athers? I agree with playing Hubby at left back as opposed to CD. I was really hoping that the formation last night with Carey as AM would work as at Reading but perhaps it was the wrong team to play it against.

Is Anderson injured too? 😮

Grimshaw
Gabriel
Ekpiteta
Husband
Garbutt
Bowler
Dougall
Wintle
Anderson (If injured play Mitchell and have them alternate flanks).
Yates
Madine

Yeah I dont want to see use use Hudband at CB yes he can cover bit its not his position, he's best at LB, the other CBs deserve a shot.

I like that team, although I would say 4231 didn't not work, it was more a flat team performance regardless of formation.

So either a 4231 with Bowler in it and maybe Dale or similar to what you put.

I'm surprised that Connolly hasn't gotten a shot at CB; wouldn't mind seeing him Saturday. We played him out of position at the start, and then once some real RBs showed up, he disappeared. Critch knows best, and he sees loads that we don't see. But I was surprised to see Garbutt coming on and Husband moved into the center, rather than Connolly coming on and Husband staying put.

An observation. Many many fans on here were clamouring for Carey to be given a go. He was, and one poor game and he's forgotten about again.
I was one of them. He’s young and he’ll get better. I wouldn’t risk him against a decent QPR team. Definitely have him on the bench though. Kid has a lot of ability and potential

I felt for Carey against Stoke, he signed for us as a creative midfielder and we just ask him to (press) high up the pitch.
I think it's a real waste of a talent.

I would pick,

Grimshaw
Gabriel
Marv
Grettarrsson
Husband
Wintle
Dougal
Bowler
Dale
Mitchell
Madine

subs
Moore
Connolly
James
Stewart
Yates
Carey
TJJ

Considering we have Maxwell, Sterling, Keogh, Garbutt, Ward, Virtue, Madine, Hamilton & Anderson all missing we have a very good side still available.

...and Lavery 👍

Agree. And the Stoke game was not really the match to start him against their shïtehouse tactics and high press. QPR could be a game he could shine in.
Having said that, I’m also keen to see Dale get a start. Very impressed with his little cameo

Are madine and keogh definitely out ?

From a Radio Lancs interview posted on twitter.
"Neil Critchley confirms Richard Keogh will miss tomorrow’s game with #QPR due to a minor call strain & Luke Garbutt needs a scan on a knee problem. Keshi Anderson should be ok to feature. "

Thanks

Big question is whether he sticks with Hubby at CB or whether he brings Greta in (assuming he's fit).

I get the feeling Hubster gets the nod and Garbs LB if he's OK, if not James.

I wouldn't give up on Carey. I just feel that Critch played him too far forward which is why he had little impact on Wednesday. I'd start both him and Dale tomorrow. Also Madine to start ahead of Jerry....

Definitely Madine for me - we missed his physical presence on Wednesday - also drop Carey - I don’t know much about this Connolly.

Played right back for us before we signed Gabriel and Sterling.

Well Im not sure I’ve seen Connolly at CB yet for the pool. I have seen Grettarson and he would deffo get the nod from me.
Agree
Connolly is a good player who can cover multiple positions, so bearing in mind our injury record, he should always be in squad but often on bench.
Unlucky for him but the team needs must come first

I think he’ll revert to Madine and Yates up front.
Carey back to the bench and Anderson and Mitchell on the wings

Still no clue on CBs - would be sensible to go with Grets if fit or give Connolly his chance there?

Not bad but Madine whilst holds it up doesn't press as well as Yates.

Looks pretty good still.
Very true JJ and whilst QPR are a bit vulnerable at the back I’m thinking Big Gaz to ruffle them up a bit and then unleash the pace and press of Jerry in the 2nd half.
