You just never know what Chritch has in mind :)

I'll go for four changes:

Grimshaw
Gabriel- Keogh - Ekpi - Garbutt
Bowler- Dougall - Wintle - Dale
Yates - Madine

Madine and Bowler were rested yesterday, back in for PNE.
No room for Carey, even though he was superb yesterday.

Me Too same 10 or 11 😀 but knowing NC's team selections it wouldn't surprise me if he made a few changes.

Grimshaw
Gabriel - Keogh - Ekpi - Garbutt
Dougall - Wintle
Bowler - Carey - Keshi
Yates
This would suit me. Sterling and/or Husband starting at fullback would also be fine if fit. But I reckon that's the front six. Dale will get another opportunity but doubt he'll be relied upon to start just yet.

I'd go with;

Grimshaw
Gabriel Ekpiteta Keogh Garbutt
Bowler Wintle Dougall Anderson
Yates Madine

I'm sure there will be a clamour for Carey and Dale to start, rightly so, but I'd definitely go for experience on Saturday. Carey could come on 2nd half if we need someone creative to link up play, Mitchell and Dale if we're chasing the game.

The manager has got some big decisions to make, but at least he's got plenty of options, better than our starting 11 being nailed on because we've got no squad depth.

Subs: Moore Bowler Connolly Garbutt Mitchell Anderson

Madine might be experienced but he doesn't score or assist, go with 4 2 3 1 again, It suits our players.

Grimshaw
Sterling Ekipeteta Keogh Husband
Dougall Wintle
Bowler Carey Anderson
Yates

That would leave us Dale, Gabriel, Mitchell and Madine to come on against tiring legs. The game will be no doubt played at a million MPH.

Edited to include Dale, our squad is mental when you consider who is currently out injured.

With a number of players still missing, it’s great to see we still have a number of real options to consider. Not sure who I would start with but I like the look of a number of the suggestions made, but in NC we must trust.

Like it but very harsh on Gabriel, you should reward good performances, so for me that 1 change Gabriel for Sterling.
Just think Sterling was good before injury and his physical presence helps
but I get what you saying , at least pool are now got two quality right backs fighting for a position which as to help

I'd just play the academy kids and that will make it a more competitive game. The Nobbers might be able to restrict us to scoring only 4 or 5.

I'm not sure he'll drop Husband. Thought he had a decent game last night although Garbutt links better with Anderson.

Er, Dale.

Grimshaw
Sterling Ekipeteta Keogh Husband
Dougall Wintle
Bowler Carey Dale
Yates

Toss up between Husband and Garbutt.

I think Dale may have to wait. But he made such a difference last night. We were dominating play without looking like scoring til his pretty remarkable introduction. Which provides a pretty persuasive case for getting him involved sooner rather than later.

Yeah Husband did well, but I saw him starting last night as him giving Garbutt a rest before Saturday. Anderson is best cutting in and being creative, with Garbutt overlapping that suits him playing that 'inverted winger' role. Husband is better defensively but he doesn't overlap the same, Anderson then has to stay wide and doesn't have the same impact on the game. For me it's Garbutt and Anderson or Husband and an actual winger with pace who's going to run at full backs, a mix of the two isn't the answer, all in my opinion of course.

It's up to Critch to do as he sees fit. If he starts Anderson and he will then so be it, if he starts TJJ then....
Oh and Voy, I don't think he'll start Madine and nor should he.
One thing that it's pretty hard to do is second guess Critch. And I've no idea of what type of football the Nobbers play!

Sterling in, as we need some height to win more headers in defence & at set pieces.
NC - can you please select someone who can take a decent corner & free kick? Last night the free kicks on the edge of their box were more in danger of hitting planes on the Heathrow flight path than going in their net 🤣. Fortunately, in the end, nothing was lost.

Thought Carey took some decent corners last night at least beating the 1st man, also took at least one free kick where the keeper had to save it.

Aye, my heads obviously still spinning after last night. I'd keep Dale on the bench. I had the same dilemma with Husband and Garbutt, Husband is a very tough defender, whereas Garbutt has better delivery and would offer more of a goal threat.

When Larry was in charge I could regularly second guess his team selection. I can rarely second guess Critch's team.

We don’t need to beat the 1st man, we need to BE the first man! Oh dear how dangerous we will be when we get those flick-ons! Lavery very good at getting to the first post, where 80% of our crosses comes. Don’t understand why we sometimes have ZERO players there, our oppnents 1st man having a free meal 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I think we know Grimshaw, Marv and Keogh will start. And Wintle and Dougall. And Yates. Sterling if he's well enough. Dropping Carey seems unlikely. I think he'll start Anderson and Bowler. Husband/Garbutt I don't know. I'd guess at Garbutt.

I wouldn't be going back to 442, not after what weve just seen with the dominance and class on the ball with that system and players.

Well it’s a sure bet that the Nobbers will not have a clue what side we will put out either.
They’ll know we will dominate possession and work hard to close them down but beyond that good luck second guessing.
