Team for Sunday?

As Bayes said last night, Critch is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't and so who would your team be for Saturday? Personally I say let's go strong, see off Brizzle and then make changes and consolidate that 3rd place.

I personally would start with the same back three that finished the game, just to give them time on the pitch together ! I believe that Ballard Big Marv and Thornileyis the way to go,

Hard to say because only management will know who’s got a knock or needs a rest. I’d try to keep the team similar though, start Ekpiteta.

One player is irreplaceable.
Maybe rest Yates as we dont want him kicked in the air & miss play offs.
Knowing Barton????

Agree Stewart, Anderson & Marv may benefit from starts.

Moore, Anderson, Ekipeteta, Stewart, Holmes and Mitchell should all start in my opinion. Give Maxwell, Turton, Ballard, Dougall, Yates and Embleton a rest.

Hopefully we get some good news back on Ward, Robson, Kaikai, Gretarrson and Madine also.

What is our weakest team? I imagine it's still a decent eleven. Shows the importance of having quality and depth in the squad.

Give Jerry a rest or just 1 half.

Priority should be getting our returning players minutes. Anderson, Stewart, Ekpiteta all could probably do with 90 minutes.

Bristol Rovers owe us one after their last day victory at Bloomers many years ago. Ollie was playing in that one.

Critchy said last night his philosophy is to win every game. I said on another post I'd definitely start Keshi, Eky and Stewart. I think we might as well bin Embleton off because I dont think he will feature in the play offs. Despite Joey I cant see Bristol offering much. He's slagged off most of his squad so I think they may be just looking forward to a good p1ss up.
We haven't anyone anywhere near a suspension.

Yes as some have posted already, I think Yates and Maxwell should be rested.
They deserve it as they've been in every team for the last few weeks at 2 games per week.
Also gives others game time (and in any case that is not a weak looking side at all)

I think Sunderland have squished his head a bit since we played them, hit and miss so far but flashes of brilliance that Critch could Work on, id Love to sign him up.

Same team as Doncaster except swap Turton for Keshi in midfield and Marvin for Thorniley at CB.

Give a run out to players who are coming back from injury like Ward, Kaikai, and Stewart in the second half as well as Holmes if we are up by two goals.

I know a lot of people will want wholesale changes since we are already in the playoffs, but at this point we're looking at an 8-9 day layoff in-between Sunday and the Semi-Finals so there's no point in trying to rest some of our more important first team players.

If they have a slight knock don't play them of course, but I think we need to keep the momentum going and making 5-6 changes would ruin that.

Subs: Moore, Ballard, Dougall, Apter, Garbutt, Kaikai, Yates
I would like to see Brad Holmes given a start as well. It's not easy coming on as a sub and trying to get up to the speed of the game. Embleton is a difficult one as there is a conflict of interest with his parent club, Sunderland, also being involved in the play-offs. However it is quite feasible that we will not play Sunderland at all and in that scenario it would be good to have him as an option (especially if Kai Kai is out).

I’m hoping that the situation between us and Sunderland regarding Embleton has been resolved by now one way or the other. If Sunderland insist he can’t play for us in the playoffs then he shouldn’t play on Sunday.

It's a difficult choice for Sunday, Yes some players, Maxwell, Yates and Ballard could all do with a rest plus Keshi, Marv, Stewart and anyone else returning needs match minutes but I think we should be trying to take third place so it would be silly to field a too weakened side.

That said, with our injury record this season do we risk Maxwell, Yates and Ballard or wrap them in cotton wool? It will be very interesting to see who starts on Sunday, I haven't a clue what would be the best option 🤔

Any of the best players who have any niggle at all should be rested for this game.
If we get an early lead, bring on bench sitters.
Definitely bring Brad Holmes on earlier than he has been brought on recently.

I really want us to win this last game , to get to 80 points , & keep the winning habit going , so I will trust Critch’s team selection , taking all the considerations into account 🍊

What about key players getting injured in a next to nothing game? We have to play a decent side to win the game but rest whoever needs it regardless

Really want us to win on Sunday and finish 3rd so play the strongest team for this one then they have a nice 9/10 day break before the first play off game.

Trust NC to get the right balance. Fringe players need game time, and some players need a rest. Pointless playing anyone who realistically won't be playing in the play offs and I'm assuming that one or two might be a booking away from suspension? Put all that in the mix and the options might be quite limited.
