Team Vardy v team Rooney

I think Rooney will have an uphill task showing it was Vardy herself who caused the leaks mainly because of lack of evidence. Very late in the day Vardy is saying her agent may have leaked the information.

There’s a lack of evidence, first because a mobile phone with all the What’s App messages fell from a boat into the sea; the IT expert has forgotten the password; an old laptop no longer works; and Vardy’s agent is too ill to give evidence. Plus the reporter is arguing he doesn’t have to disclose his source.

But I know what I think.

Whoops butterfingers. Talk about a smoking gun. On a par with "I was cleaning it and it went off" 😂

What we really want to know is:
- who is the appointed court scribe for the Wagatha Christie case, and
- how many did Danny Drinkwater actually have?

I think we should be told.
 
My impression is that Rooney will be unable to actually prove that Vardy was behind it - and therefore lose the case. I feel a bit sorry for her tbh - but maybe it would have been better not to "finger" Vardy on social media in the first place 🤪

They've (diplomatically) tried that, pointing out the costs - estimated at £1m each to date. But neither has backed down.
The "winner" is unlikely to get more than 70% of their costs awarded, and it's reckoned that damages will only be somewhere between £15-40k.
So it's costing the "winner" a minimum £250k - and rising rapidly as the week goes on.

Happy days for the lawyers, mind you.
 
To be fair, Ms Vardy is hardly an intellectual. Ms Rooney on the other hand is a streetwise scouser and I would back her in a streetfight. That said, the pair of them have spent a million to prove a point and need their heads banging together. Is that within the Judge's powers?

Why would he?, He & the lawyers are getting rich, in a case of too much money & vanity that everyone else had forgotten about & will again soon..

Justice is for the richest only..

Very unfair on him to be dragged into this childish spat and humiliated. I've spoken to a few shopping centre managers who have met him at functions, and I'm informed that he is a thoroughly nice guy, who genuinely cares about his supporters and portraying a respectable image as a role model.
The evidence will be judged on 'the balance of probabilities' & Vardy's 'loss of evidence' raises eye brows.
 
RV is an example of the worst kind of WAG. Today's revelation was about her moving seats during an England game to sit behind Coleen so the papparazzi wouldn't miss her. CR said she has tried to settle the dispute out of court several times but RV wouldn't. She seems to have no concept of what real life is. Maybe the legal fees will help bring her down to earth.

I feel extremely sorry for him …Vardy strikes me as being very hard-nosed.
 
Why on earth did it get to this stage?
A complete waste of money, but it's their money (or their husbands) anyway.
I bet Vardy & Rooney (husbands) aren't too happy with the situation.
Why couldn't they settle it amicably?
Hope the Judge awards a £1 to the winner.
What a complete pair of big mouthed idiots to let it get to this stage.

Never met the guy and I'm no fan, but I can't help thinking that if a woman had her genitals mocked in a court case that she had no involvement in, there would be public outrage.
And rightly so.
As you say, very unfair on the guy.
