Queen Elizabeth, Charles' grandmother was Queen from 1936 to 1952, when she became Queen Mother.

The same with Queen Mary, Charles Great grandmother who was Queen from 1910 to 1936.

The Queen Consort is a sop to the tabloids who thought Diana walked on water. She was their lunchticket for 18 years,
