The “Big” Friendly…..

Yo

You'd think it would be at Blackpool to coincide with Scottish fortnight .. although that in itself could be problematic - wonder if it happened how many tickets they'd give Rangers and actually could it top any of our league attendances next season?!
i remember us playing them a few years ago, mid week but can’t for the life of me remember the crowd figure. I do recall quite a few of them piling out of our ends but no trouble or anything

And is the new playing surface ready, or are we going to save until the first home game? Schalke 04 away would be a good friendly or Red Bull Salzburg!😉😉

I think Southport probably get a fixture from us as a 'thank you' due to the non - league scouting they do on our behalf.
I know they have previously recommended players to us.

Exactly. It's made it relatively easy to be purist about these things 😁🧡

Just checked and I'm 7 short of League grounds, none of which we've played at, with the exception of the new Plough Lane but that was behind closed doors. Went to the old Plough Lane and Kingstonians ground when they played there.

Brentford, Spurs, West Ham, Wimbledon, Sutton, Harrogate and Forest Green Rovers.

I've seen us play at 207 grounds.
That’s some record Wiz lad 👏👏👏

Just had a count up and I think I’ve done 208 🤔🤣

My not so reliable source but nevertheless a source has informed Leeds has been cancelled and replaced by two home friendliest ; one Scottish and one Prem team (won’t divulge names) announced later this week.

Home friendlies is what we want and need IMO, against big opposition, to get the casuals etc interested and attending.

So in an ideal world a Rangers type game and a game against top prem opposition would be best but maybe not likely, if not top 6 then Newcastle, Villa... would be good, even Everton again.

We were due the Rangers game last time and Scots love Blackpool so it's something their fans would enjoy.

If we could get that top prem side though.....at home....

it’s got to be Rangers ain’t it? He did say two “biggies” at home so we shall see

On the Rangers forum they reckon that they are playing us on 16th July at Bloomfield road
As there's ones already booked rooms for that weekend

If he's not reliable he isn't really a source - just a guy down the pub

Is it? Something like that would be really good. But if we could get a top 6 prem side, would be great.
so he says JJ announced this week apparently. Both would be decent attendances - I don’t usually bother with many pre seasons but would do these (if not away) and Salford 😜

they would be great games - Newcastle have the feel good factor and would likely bring loads.. Rangers obviously would as well - if we get a new manager and a signing or two could be close to sellouts... open the whole east for away fans ?
