The Blackpool Manager you hated the most?

Hate is a strong word, can’t say I’ve ‘hated’ any manager, but are you talking about management skills or personality? holloway was a bull shitter , lee Clarke was actually straight talking and brought some good player to the club, Megson came across as arrogant, worthington as dull as dishwater , Sam Ellis was one of the lads , billy Ayre was a gent and jimmy Mullen was a nice bloke👍🏻

I never took to Sam Allardyce with his Bolton links, but Gary Megson wins hands down, maybe it was the ginger hair?.I thought Steve McMahon was an arrogant sod but loved the football his sides played.

Agree with PG, I don't think I've 'hated' any manager, but Megson was a knobhead.

There was a bloke on the coaching staff who pushed it close - that bloke who shoved one of our players (Dobbie?) around on the touchline when he was about to come on as sub, then didn't? He was a bullying, red-faced tosser as I recall. If I remember from the time I think there was some sort of meet-at-the-windmill-esque face off lined up between him and old Duke of Lancaster cos they got into verbally at the time and online afterwards? My memory is rubbish for details on stuff like that. Hopefully someone can fill those details!

mcmahon was prone to a fight or two, Whether or not it was his neighbour or some poor bloke in the sponsors lounge 😁

Never hated any manager why would i hate anyone who tried to help the club. Never though fond of Neil Mcdonald following his public praise and support of the Oystons. He knew this would anger and appal fans yet his still went ahead and did it.

Yep. Never hated any manager, but some have been laughably bad. Muggers was probably up there with the 'worst'. I genuinely think Clarke had no idea what he was walking into and in fairness to both he and The Elasticated Waste, both were in charge at a point where no manager on earth could have been liked or succeeded.

I never warmed to Fat Sam at any point. Still haven't.
Felt sorry for the Hen-Dog in the end. For such a mighty warrior on the pitch he looked a little boy lost as the boss.

Another vote for Muggers from me. Not hate though, derision would be a better word. Now....... 1,2,3 elasticate! 🤦‍♂️

Hendry for incompetence
MacDonald for having the empathy of a slug
Allardyce for bottling it completely.
Megson for going to Stockport.

Not hate, but despise

Paul Ince, never liked him as a player. Ruined his son's final months here.

Muggers

Michael Appleton for being a nobber legend.

Megson for sacking us off for Stockport

Carr because he was useless and his son is an annoying as **** twonk :D

In fairness to Carr, he just wasn't a manager. Good scout and coach though.

Graham Carr was and still is a bit of a folk hero in Northampton, folk hero there, folking joke hero here.
And yes his son is a proper twonk.!

Megson every time.

MacDonald was more of a bumbling fool, beneath contempt. Clarke and Hendry were lost, Worthington I didn't really find hatable just boring.

I just didn't like Gary Megson at all. As above, I thought I was going to hate Macca but he won me over and I ended up really liking him.

Never really hated a Manager but disliked a few. pity it's not which Blackpool Owner you hated the most.

Wiz, Allardyce bottled it?

What about the 11 players on the pitch that night?
Wasnt just that night but from Easter onwards. The tactics set us up to fail by going defensive when we'd got near the top by being on the front foot.

That second leg was the epitome of that as we fell back into a defensive shell and invited Bradford on.

Even typing this brings back the bad memories. Obviously the players bear some responsibility but for my money, they were set up to fail.

I think a number of suggestions on here are very harsh to say the least. Big Sam took us from nothing to the play offs, if it wasn’t for the owners incompetence sure he would have stayed and got us promoted. Riga, why Riga he was sold a fantasy (again from our previous owners) stood up to them publicly and had the decency to resign. I also think some of the others also are harsh McMahon didn’t he have a real passion for the game, and also bought a washing machine to help out!

Jimmy Mullen, it would have been Graham Carr but he brought in Billy Ayre so he got something right. Mullen was just shit

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Billy Ayre already there before Carr?? Thought he joined us to be Mullens assistant.... Mullen got the sack, Billy didnt....

Don't really hate any former managers, but we have too many who weren't very good, or lost the plot!
I believe managers eventually get 'stale' when they've been with a club for a while, and need to leave for their and the clubs benefit.
However, I think the constant for us is that most if not all eventually got fed up of Oyston!

Can’t say I hated any really, felt sorry for most of them working under the conditions set by the previous owners - I’m still amazed that we managed to do as well as we had done and not followed more than a few other established Football League clubs into non-league!

Not hate but I was disappointed in Bob Stokoe second time around. He took the job thinking we'd walk Div 3 with Walsh & Hatton. Then they upped and left and he was no longer interested.

Didn’t hate any of them.
Can’t understand the dislike of Riga at all.
Mugdonald is the one I disliked the most
