The BST Membership Secretary ain't happy!

Wow. Pack mentality or what.

The guy made one tweet in frustration. Hardly crime of the century. Unbelievably nasty to be insulting him using some of the term used in this thread.

What fcking business is it for anyone to get all hepped up about on here? Did the tweet offend you or affect you so much you felt the need to weigh in on the guy?

The OP was just shit stirring and has incited a band of very small minded posters to jump in like attack dogs.

AVFTT at it's very worst. Pathetic.
All I wish to say is "hepped up"!!! I had to google it.. Apparently an Americanism meaning to be enthusiastic about something. -- Excited; enthusiastic; invigorated; stimulated.

:)

If he doesn't want people to comment on it, perhaps he shouldn't post it on Twitter.

... and there you have it. The problem with social media in a nutshell. It's a bit rich when folk on here are getting defensive of him in proxy though. When you post on social media you should expect scrutiny and debate. Isn't that the point of it??

I know what Francis is going through because I am encountering the same issue trying to buy 3 ST'S for my family.
With adults it's a "faff" but not too difficult. You simply need to set up a "network" in your own account and setup a permission. This does however mean that all STs within the "network" have to have an account, e-mail addresses, etc.
I do wonder though what the situation is with regards children and for the Westies that haven't got a computer.
I take back what I said. Whilst buying my own ticket is simple I can't work out how to buy the other STs in my network.

I've no idea what SR and the club thought about that, but he certainly removed any suggestion of conflicting interests.

I think Francis was just letting off steam, he probably never even thought about the AVFTT Jury.

I've met Miss Grimsby, but I don't know much about her role or what she thinks of it.
Not commenting on SB but elsewhere around the country interests seem to conflict after a while with a number of high profile trusts, usually when they have board members in London and the question of tickets crops up for glamour matches. Exeter is one example after they drew Manure in the cup.

Christ you Can’t say anything anymore. Chill out everyone.

Tbf to the club, they said in their original statement that if there any problems, email them.

I renewed mine online, but couldn't renew my son's, even though he is in my network and I bought cup tickets for him online last season.

An email to the club, and a return phone call from the ticket office, sorted it out within 2 minutes.

Chill, people 😎

You never heard that word before?

If you are under 40 years old understandable. Over that then I'm amazed.

I thought it came from hep cat:

Noun
(informal, music) A jazz performer, especially one from the 1940s and 1950s.

Etymology
From hep +‎ cat, from hep (“sophisticated, aware”). Compare cat (“jazz enthusiast”). Attested in the sense of “sophisticated person” from the 1920s. [So referring to Dave Pick then 😁 ]

Not been on here for months, but I only found out last night about my stupid Twitter post had opened a discussion on here.,
looking back i really was a bit of a tool and other things I cant mention by posting my frustrations on social media. without boring you all I had one of those days where everything went belly up, suffered Credit card fraud x 2, got a Parking Ticket outside my house, PC crashed then struggled with renewing season tickets, I know there were a few days left before the early bird finished but I wanted to do it asap because one of my friends was going away the following day on holiday and one was for my daughters birthday present. I know these aren't reasonable excuses for me losing the plot. so most of you were right to have a go at me. I had actually tried using other email addresses but for some reason I just couldn't make headway, my head by this time was spinning, I wasn't aware at the time that I could contact the ticket office for assistance. My thanks to Laura at the club for getting in touch and assisted me to renew all four tickets the following day. My apologies to BFC and BST for my twitter rant, it was purely out of frustration. Lessons learnt.

Every respect for that, and I was one that criticised your post (albeit not in a nasty way!)

Another happy customer thanks to Laura who also rectified the issue that was preventing me from buying tickets on-line.
We will be getting new season ticket cards apparently.

Good man. At least it was all sorted in the end 👍

tbf he is probably just having a bad day and we are all entitled to one or two of them from time to time.
I dont know him but as said he is an active BST volunteer so although he imho overreacted i would be inclined give him the benefit of doubt.
Who knows In the future looking back at 'grandads twitter rant' may bring some amusement to him & his family.

Maybe every social media post should have a 12 hour countdown cooling off period so you have chance to re evaluate before it goes live. I know I could have done with one in the past lol

I don't think you had anything to apologise for Francis, but that was very nicely done.

You shouldn't have apologised on here and bowed down to the rabid pack.

It should come up with "is this tweet about emotions/feelings in any way, shape or form?"

If you click "yes" then it just flashes with

*WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU THINKING PUTTING THAT ON THE INTERNET YOU MENTALIST?*

for about twenty minutes.

Oh i dont know i think its great when people are big enough to admit they may have overreacted or made a faux pas.

I think it paints him in a very nice light, It demonstrates a sense of humility & awareness that we all can make errors of judgement.

A few on here could certainly do with learning some of those traits imho.
